It Does What it is Supposed to do [Posted on 2006-12-26]
I bought this for my son to go with his iPod. He was very excited to receive it and I think it filled the niche that it needed to fill. He now has a way to listen to his music without wearing headphones.

The M1006 was easy to set up and it worked right out of the box within a minute. It was annoyingly set to radio mode and it doesn't pick up stations very well, so I had to fight through the static before getting the iPod hooked up. It comes with various iPod adapters to fit any size.

We almost lost the remote control under the adapters because it's so small, which is good on one hand, but it also makes it easy to lose. I was disappointed that the remote doesn't seem to allow you to use the fantastic menu system of the iPod. Instead you can only move forward and back through playlists, but you can't scroll through menus. It was also a bit slow in responding. But it works.

The sound is okay. For some reason, the top volume setting is 16. I have no idea why they would choose such an arbitrary number. The bass gets really muddy at higher volumes, but for my son's room, it will be fine.

We haven't tested the video out feature, which was one of the main selling points for me. I hope that it works as satisfactory as the rest of the M1006.

Sound quality quite dreadful [Posted on 2006-12-26]
It could be worse, I suppose, but speech sounds muffled/as if coming from underwater, and music quality is unimpressive, especially towards the bass. Radio reception, even with the built-in wire antenna at full stretch, is poor. I suppose I could be missing it, but I could not locate the advertised line-in jack for cd players and other devices.
The one plus is the area around the dock is large enough to connect my 30GB 5G iPod without removing it from its case. However, I'll still be returning this item.

Great sound and a fair price [Posted on 2007-01-11]
We have been so impressed with this machine. It has great sound, very clear and is very easy to operate.

Very Comparible To The Bose But Cheaper [Posted on 2008-03-24]
We are very satisfied with the purchase of this product. I believe the sound is very good, and I have not had any problems with the sound like some of the other users have, it's possible the one they have is defective which happens with all products. I love the size of the remote, it's small because you don't want some large bulky remote for a iPod system, and it's made to hook on your belt.

It's also charges your iPod which some systems do not do this. The AM/FM is a plus, and should not be a reason to purchase this product, after all, it's for you iPod so you shouldn't really need it for the radio.

The other person who could not find the line out, it's right on the left speaker side, so obviously you have not taken the time to learn the product before you use it, or review it, not trying to knock you, but, you need to make sure you know how to do everything first before you rate something.

Overall for the price of this product, I highly recommend it. The other great thing for me is I purchased this on clearance at Kmart for only $30, but, with that being said, if I would have paid $100 it would have been worth it.

iListen radio iPod dock [Posted on 2008-06-26]
My daughter got this for me on Father's Day.
It works just great with the iPod Nano. 1st gen.
Charges good and the remote works .
I use some eq on the iPod (Acoustic or classical) and it bumps up enough bass
that it sounds nice. The SRS is subtle but it does spread it about a bit.
the 16 step volume is weird but ok. Radio reception is iffy and it's bad here anyway.
Still quite adequate for that one hour or so of news radio, that my daughter said didn't sound good
on my 25 year old panasonic boombox ( which I shall miss).
At any rate, this is a pefectly good fun table radio and iPod player. I like it.
