Nice Little Speakers. Good Bang for the Buck. [Posted on 2008-03-04]
Based on some personal recommendations, I purchased the Diva 2.1 Speakers manufactured by Miglia. I purchased through DataBazar via Amazon.
I wanted to share with everyone some useful information which is not easily available elsewhere.
1. The seller was good and sent the product on time as advertised.
2. The manual is small and simple and setup was exceedingly easy; the manual is in English and French.
3. I used the speakers successfully with a 1.83GHz MacBook Core2Duo.
4. The power cord has swappable prongs and the unit came with ungrounded prongs (two prong) for American outlets as well as what I believe are a United Kingdom ungrounded prong set (two square prongs and a third plastic dummy prong), and a European prong set (two cylindrical, round-ended prongs). The manual fails to mention any details about the power adapter.
And most important to me...
5. The unit is magnetically shielded.
I tested the speakers against a Treo 650 during a phone call and found that I could get a small, faint pickup of the cellphone signal by the speakers only when I held the phone 1-2 cm from the central subwoofer assembly. And, this faint interference was only from select points around the subwoofer where I was able to get the phone signal to pass through the magnetic shielding.
As far as normal use of a cell phone in the vicinity of these speakers goes, there is no interference whatsoever.
I have only had these speakers long enough to perform the test above. I can give no information about long term use. I am an average user (not an audiophile) and for me the sound is more than adequate. Considering the price, I got more than I paid for, as comparably priced computer speakers are often not magnetically shielded. The Diva speakers are also small and portable and have a stylish case IMHO.
I rated this product 5 stars because it did what I expected speakers in this price range to do and a little more.
