Customer Reviews:

Good Product - Velcro Didn't Hold [Posted on 2008-02-03]
I am now buying this for the second time. I was very pleased with it, but when I got back from apres ski the other day, the wristband was missing from my jacket, the velcro didn't hold. While I have experienced the volume issues described in the other reviews, for the most part, I have found that the buttons work pretty consistently.

Fell off my wrist and lost it the first day [Posted on 2008-04-09]
Bought the Monster IPod remote from Amazon tested it, worked great but I should have heeded the earlier review I read.

First day skiing it separated from the adjustable wrist strap fell off my wrist. It never even made it to the first chairlift ride.

Come guys what did you do design this thing and forget how to attach it then give that design task to some first year student intern?

I'm on this website now because I'm ordering yet another one from Amazon Maybe they are all in this together and smarter than I think.

Good, but... [Posted on 2008-05-17]
I got this for the 2006/2007 ski season and it was fantastic. I could pause the tunes to talk to someone without losing the song. If I came up on a trail I wanted to ski to a different song, a couple of clicks on the watch and I was gone. For the most part, I didn't have to remove my gloves, but sometimes it seems the fingertips of gloves are a bit too fat and I'd have to take a glove off to get a button click to register.

It was such a hit that season, that my ski buddy went to the store and bought one too. Now the BAD news - there is no way to lock a remote to a specific iPod. So in the 2007/2008 season, my buddy and I were about to kill each other as he kept turning up the volume of my unit and I kept turning his down. We could ski by each other and if one or the other of us made an adjustment, the other one had a 50% chance of feeling the effect. You'd think you could "pair" the remote to the iPod like you can with Bluetooth, but if you can, we couldn't figure out how. So the more this product shows up on the slopes, the more aggravation it will cause to people that already own one.

BTW - In regard to all the reviews that complain about the clip and the Velcro - It was obvious to me that neither had the security for something like skiing. So with a great deal of effort, I took the clip off the back and ran the Velcro strap through the remote (there are tow slits for this purpose you can see once you remove the clip). When that is put on your wrist (which is an easy thing to do), it is not going anywhere. I've skied about 30 days with it on all sorts of terrain and never had any trouble or even came close to losing it. There are instructions for making this change that come with the package, although they make it seem easier than it actually is. You really have to use a lot of force to get the clip off.

Does not work with my 3rd gen Nano [Posted on 2008-05-23]
I intended to use this product to control my 3rd gen Nano while motorcycling. It does not work. If you press the up volume button, it moves the volume to max. If you press down volume, it moves the volume to min. There is no way to increase or decrease volume with this device! I tried pairing it as per the instructions, but it made no difference. Also, you cannot skip a song. Pressing the forward button fast forwards through the song instead of skipping to the next song. I don't know about other iPods, but if you have a 3rd gen Nano, this product does not work at all.

Great product. [Posted on 2008-06-01]
Remote works well with Ipod Nano 3rd genereation.

I think stock battery is a bit weak and sensitive to low tempereatures. I replaced it with a fresh duracell, and now it seems a little less sensitive to cold temperatures.

When skipping ahead, there is a small delay before the remote will let you skip to the next song, ie. skip one, wait a sec and skip again. If you keep pressing, it won't skip. I don't know if it's because of the radio frequencies, but that is the reality of it.

Works extremely well for motorcycle applications.
