No improvement for SD TV [Posted on 2008-01-17] I bought these cables thinking there would be some sort of improvement over the normal A/V cable where the is only 1 cable for video and 2 for audio. I have a 46" Samsung, but currently I am only watching Standard Definition. Maybe these cables do their job for HD, but there they are no better than the cheap A/V. This also could be from the signal or box from Charter. Ill have to try it with my DVD player and see if there is a difference.
nice looking, good quality [Posted on 2008-01-21] Monster cables always have nice looking, usually more expensive, but this one has resonable price, quality/price rate is good.
TERRIBLE FIT [Posted on 2008-02-26] The connectors on these cables are WAY TOO THICK!!! They really don't fit on the component jacks on my BRAND NEW SAMSUNG LCD TV OR my DVD player! I had to force them on, it made horrific crunching sounds, and I probably damaged my equipment from pushing so hard on the jacks and spreading them apart because of the girth of these things. As you can see in the above pic, they can't fit side by side, so the jacks are forced to spread apart. I have really never been so angry, and I feel like suing monster. Oh yeah, and THE PICTURE QUALITY IS TERRIBLE! My S-video looked much better, now I have interference lines. Do not go with Monster, they are an outrageous joke.
Beautiful picture quality! [Posted on 2008-02-27] I got these component cables to upgrade my A/V system upon the arrival of my brand new 37" Sharp Aquos and I must say that they are very well worth the price tag. The image difference in my DVD player went from washed out and faded (using composite) to a vivid array of colors and improved contrast.
The cables are very sturdy and the connectors are color coded and ergonomically designed for comfortable gripping while connecting them to your TV and receiver or output device. Monster quality is real and I am sticking to this brand for all my analog cable needs (where you really need shielding, gold plating and sturdy construction to avoid signal loss).
My TV also has HDMI input also. I have hooked up my computer screen to the HDMI input and I must say that as far as color luminance and brilliance these component cables can rival HDMI.
Good product! Better Price! [Posted on 2008-04-17] Needed a good cable run behind the wall, works great, no problems yet. Cost too much anywhere else.
