You need it, it is featherweight aluminum and has a thin internal padding.
It has a simple tension closure to seal it, and exposes all three cooling vents.
You can connect all the ports including the headphone jack while in the case, and even close the lid with the cellular antenna fully extended.
We don't suggest you modify the case and convert it to fit any kind of belt clip, because the lid doesn't truly lock, it would just fall out.
IT WILL ALSO SNUGLY FIT AN OQO WITH A STANDARD SLIM BATTERY.
