The Oricore 3-to-1 HDMI switch is a Great solution for it's price. I had just recently gotten my first hdtv, it' sadly only had one hdmi port. I had searched a few places online for a nice switch box and was completely horrified by some of the prices on some other models ranging anywhere from 50 to literally hundreds of dollars. Some models where manual while some where automatic, The problem I found with the automatic switch boxes was that if you have a satellite or cable box or really any hdmi appliance that doesn't completely power down then the automatic switch boxes don't know when to switch over automatically when you turn on another hdmi device, and to be honest having almost everything wireless in my home it seemed silly to get a manual switch box. The solution was simple I needed a cheap remotely controlled switch, I searched around and found a few units that looked nice. But then I saw this one. Not only was the price irresistibly attractive, it was remote controlled and came with a six foot hdmi cable to boot. This is great because I have bought hdmi cables before at places like wal mart and paid upwards of 36 dollars for them, and you have to realize you will need that extra cable. you will need an hdmi cable for every device going into the box and one for the output into your hdtv. 'so this extra cable alone really is worth the price if you have been burnt at retail stores before, like I have'. This works great on my ps3 and my hd/tivo receiver.
There are some cons.. while the picture quality is top notch. The actual material the remote is made out of is quite flimsy. The remote it self uses a watch battery the power cord to the power adapter looks frail so frail it could be a fire hazard. I wouldn't use this box in a childs room. however there are only six volts going through the cord that's no more power then a battery would use, so assume its safe. 'I'm no electrician after all '
I will say, the box and remote feel cheap to the touch , and look cheap to the eye. however. performance wise you honestly wont do better anywhere for the money.
I've made a brutally honest review. weighing both pros and cons. and on that note. I leave you with this. No matter how you look at it. This switch box is a complete steal for it's price. you wont find a cheaper 3-1 switch with a remote anywhere.
