Good...for the money. [Posted on 2008-05-04] I am satisfied with the quality and value that I received with these headphones. I purchased headphones for $30 including shipping. Given the modest price tag, these headphones deliver an imporoved listening experience to most stock headphones. The overall sound quality of the phones is average at best, with the bass drowning out other parts of the music in some songs. The major and most significant advantage of the headphones is the noise cancellation effect of the buds. The earbuds block out about 90% of ambient noise, making music much more enjoyable. However, in their attempt to thump your eardrums, most non-hip-hop songs suffer in quality. For expample, classic rock does not sound crisp or satisfying due to excessive bass. That said, I would easily choose this over the stock ipod headphones and at $30, everyone should be satisfied with the purchase. Worse case scenario, you have a decent set of back up headphones.
Great sound. Bad fit. [Posted on 2008-05-05] I tried using these headphones after seeing they had good reviews at CNet. I agree that the sound is great, I just couldn't seem to get them to stay in my ear. I tried changing the bud size but to no avail, they kept falling out during workouts. Also, I kept feeling like I had a vacuum lock in one ear and it affected the sound. This could be an isolated issue for me. I returned them. Wich they would have fit better.
I love these things! [Posted on 2008-05-07] I absolutely love these ear buds. I'm on my second pair as I crushed my original pair accidentally in my car door one day. It was an absolutely painful experience when I had to revert to my old Apple standard earbuds (which are still pretty good earbuds) for a few weeks before I could grab another pair of the V-moda's. I recommend these and all V-moda products to all of my friends.
Great for Hip Hop Only..flimsy cord [Posted on 2008-05-08] I purchased my first pair about two months ago. The price was very cheap and they advertised on the package great bass response. The bass was excellent as well as the noise isolation and price. However afetr only a month, I lost sound in one earbud because of the wire getting pinched right above the plug. I returned those to the store and exchanged them for a new pair, but the same thing happened again within two weeks..this time the plug seperated from the plastic housing...so great price and bass, but the quality is lacking.
Head SHAKING BASS [Posted on 2008-05-09] Ive had these headphones now for about a month. At first the headphones bass is sort of flat, it takes about 24 to 48hrs to break them in. After they break in the bass is INSANE!!...They're very loud and clear. Only problem is that they tend to slip off if you just have one hanging from one ear. To get the best possible bass response you must find the perfect seal. They sound almost close to my Sony MDR-700's.
