Great Idea [Posted on 2007-02-09] Really solved the problem for multiple surge protectors throughout the house. Very easy installation for an electrician. A must with all of today's electronics scattered throughout the house!
Be cautious about using this product INSTEAD OF surge protectors on sensitive electronic equipment [Posted on 2007-11-24] I have recently reviewed several manufacturer's online sites for this kind of device, and believe every site said to use this kind of device to protect the motors in your house--AND also to use individual surge protectors on your sensitive electronic equipment such as computers and sound systems.
Great Value, Seems to be doing the job [Posted on 2008-06-20] As someone else said, this is not designed to replace surge protectors for your electronics or computers so don't stop using those if you get this. It's really meant to protect your motor driven appliances, like the fridge, freezer, furnace, etc. However, it certainly doesn't hurt to have the extra protection for the electronics too.
Installing this is a piece of cake if you know a little bit about electricity. You do need a 1/2" conduit locknut to secure this to your panel, you also need 1 30A double pole circuit breaker. I thought it would come with a locknut but it wasn't a big deal to pick one up along with the breaker. The hardest part of the install for me was just finding a good place to mount it. Once you figure that out turn the main breaker off, install the 30A double pole breaker & Panamax, and make connections. It's straightforward and the instructions that come with it are good.
Every house should have one of these!
Great Product [Posted on 2008-08-09] Product arrived as advertised and was installed with zero problems. Seems to be working well. I expect no problems.. Would defintitely recommend both seller and product.

So far so good [Posted on 2008-08-24] I bought this device just after the capacitor to my A/C fan motor blew up, in hope to prevent unprotected devices in our home like the appliances (and A/C), as it's difficult to get surge protectors for every device. I have individual ones for all my PC's and TV's, but having this device for the whole house provides a little extra added peace of mind!
Device arrived just in time for my electrician to install it and no problems so far...seems to be doing it's job.
