Broke after about 80 days [Posted on 2008-06-29] These broke about 80 days into the unbelievably short 90 day warranty. The right ear developed an intermittent crackling noise even when there was no cord attached.
I shipped them back (at my expense) and Panasonic hassled me about fixing them under warranty. Eventually, they agreed and shipped me a refurbished unit, which works (for now). Now I just have to hope the second pair lasts longer than the first.
Excellent noise-cancelling [Posted on 2008-07-03] These headphones provide excellent background noise cancellation. Even when the noise cancelling button is not turned on, the headphones still cut a lot of low-frquency noises. Only drawback is if you're listening to music, the noise is slightly audible to someone sitting next to you.
Changed my life [Posted on 2008-07-05] Apparently I'm the last person on earth to find out how useful noise-canceling headphones are. These work great for lawn mowing, which was what I bought them for. However, I've used them for lots more situations and I love them. It's astonishing how much ambient noise there is that you never notice until suddenly it's gone. I love these things.
Good product, It does what it is meant for [Posted on 2008-07-05] A good product with & snug fit. Good sound repoduction- it may not have the deepest low's but very good anyway.
I have an older model treadmill that is very noisy, with these on they reduced the noise level where I don't have to blast the volume of the sound system or the tv.
A good investment at a good price.
Excellent product... forget Bose. [Posted on 2008-07-07] I just got the RP-HC500 like 2-3 weeks ago... did all the research since i was actually thinking about the Bose option, well, i am glad i did not pay the extra $$... these are just as good as the Bose. I have actually tried both since a few of my friends have the Bose, and i can NOT tell the difference! So, go for it. Great value for the money.
