Absolutely Astounding Set of Little Foam Headphones! [Posted on 2005-09-18]
I use to feel sorry for people who used little foam headphones like this pair. As someone who has been using headphones since the time they were called earphones--and you got a free white pair with every radio you bought--I thought I knew what the best headphones were: BIG studio type ones!
Then, I got a portable Panasonic CD player--SL-SV570--which came with these RP-HG10 headphones. I had no intention of using them, mind you. I was going to use my big headphones with the CD player, or portable active speakers. One day, however, I needed to listen to something quick, and these little headphones were the closest to me, so I just grabbed them and listened. I couldn't believe how good they sound. I still can't believe how good they sound. I can't go back to my big headphones! They don't sound anywhere near as good as these.(And these are very light and comfortable, even though they are behind the neck ones.)
I later bought a larger more expensive pair of Panasonic headphones hoping to get the same sound, with all noise blocked out, but they didn't sound anything like these. I'm still searching for such a pair, because I prefer a total blockout of outside sounds, but until then...these cheapo little headhones will be what I use for my music. Nothing sounds better!
Great sound less than great comfort [Posted on 2007-09-09]
Overall decent headphone, great sound quality, XBS bass works as advertised.
Two complaints:
1. headphone cord is a little too short for my needs.
2. the way it fits over my ears tend to pinch and become a little uncomfortable over time.
May fit better for you, but sound quality is great.

I got a pair of these headphones with a CD player about 4 or 5 years ago. The CD player has the XBS Extra Bass System along with the headphones. Since I like a lot of bass, I was very happy with the system until one of the ear loops broke on the headphones. Therefore, I am happy to see I can order a replacement online, since I've never seen them in stores. Like another reviewer mentioned, this behind-the-neck style works best when you are upright versus lying down. I don't know what the sound and bass are like if you use them with a player that does not have the XBS Extra Bass System built in.
Great sound, cheap materials [Posted on 2008-08-03]
The sound in this headphones is great considering they came with a CD player; both bass and treble sounds terrific, also, they are quite confortable. Materials are not good enough. The same as other buyers, the ear loops on my headphones broke too (with normal use, they never received hard use), the foam that covers the ear pieces started to fall and after a while, I was using them with no foam at all.
