Great !!! [Posted on 2006-06-07] I bought this paire of headphones because they were cheap and Panasonic. They are good but not recomanded for bass tests. They are loud and clear even at 40mw comparing with the sony mdr-e818 at 50mw...they do a grea job for the money. They are soft and with many hours of listening you won't be feelin' them in your ears. So if you want my pro' opinion i'd say that Sony and Panasonic are the masters of headphones especially because they are too good for the price.
Meh. Not That Impressed. [Posted on 2008-02-24] The sound is a lot like an old transistor radio speaker: muffled, tinny, weak. There are headphones and earbuds out there that will do a much better job for you.
panasonic did it again [Posted on 2008-04-17] This is a great product, I am buying another set for my daughter. My son is picky about how the earbuds fit and feel in his ears and he loves these. The volume control is great too because he can lower the volume easily but he doesn't have to take them off to talk to someone. I really like panasonic products and as usual amazon got them here very quickly.
Much better than other headphones - tested [Posted on 2008-06-06] I couldn't decide which headphones to order, so I bought these headphones, as well as Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Earbuds, JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds JBDW, and Koss SportaPro Stereo Headphones 155475. All models were less than 20$ each and got good reviews.
After testing them, my conclusions are:
The Panasonic and the Koss are the best, and much much better than the Sony and the Jbuds. The frequency response of both the Panasonic and Koss is 20-25K while Sony is 20-22K and Jbuds is 20-20K. Frequency response is not the only specification to consider when buying headphones, but it is one of the more important ones.
When comparing the Panasonic and Koss - Koss are designed differently (on the ear vs. earbud) and it affects the sound, but I was surprised the sound wasn't reacher compared to the panasonic. I think Panasonic has a slight edge, as they are cheaper. But they have totally different styles so it is a matter of personal preference too.
btw - In the product page of the Panasonic, the headphones are shown with a carrying case, but mine came without. I didn't care for the case, so I didn't mind.
Confusing pictures, don't have a carrying case [Posted on 2008-06-21] Take precautions before purchasing it if you want a carrying case!
You need to ask each seller if they have these earbuds with the carrying case shown in picture; mine doesn't comes with it! Amazon mistakenly placed these pictures for all RP-HV162 and rarely they comes with this winding case.
