I have purchased and used other MP3 and iPod players so I have background with which to compare this HDD8150 player. I also like to do my homework before laying out good money for an expensive electronic device. Each person has different wants and needs, but for me 8GB is an ideal capacity-- still very manageable while having hundreds of hours of lectures and language courses, as well as tons of music (and several Gigs still available!). The player is small w/o being too small, lightweight, and relatively easy to work. The earbud-type headphones that come with this player (and the Philips 30GB player) produce the highest quality sound I have ever heard (with the possible exception of the high-end Bose headphones).
