Philips HE592 -- not to bad [Posted on 2008-02-24] Just got these from amazon and started using with my Zune, and love them. They completely drown out all the noise while at the gym. Fit is snug and secure in my ears. Only thing I HATE is the two different length wires for the ear buds. Left is like 6 inches and the right is double(at least) that! It works but its just weird.
I will eventually be going to a 1 wire behind the head headphone but for now these do the job perfectly.
Best for around town [Posted on 2008-03-21] I don't understand the complaints, they have been a fine set for general use around town. Never had them fall out no matter what I was doing. You must full insert them in your ear canal which is not that easy the first few times. They are very comfortable and I wear them for hours with out any discomfort. The sound is fine, they tend to offer a balanced sound, my ipod ear phones tended toward more base at the cost of treble and midrange sounds. They offer good sound and performance at a very inexpensive price, if you want great sound and performance you will have to come up with a lot more cash.
Good quality ear buds. [Posted on 2008-03-21] No complaints whatsoever! I got 2 pair of these from 2 different Amazon sellers and the price I paid was incredibly low considering the quality.
Don't fit in ears. [Posted on 2008-04-01] I'm one of the folks who must have mutant ears, because there is no way I can comfortably wear these without them immediately falling out. I can shove them in my ears until they are painful, but just a slight head motion including talking will make them fall out. I don't recommend these at all. I must have tried dozens of earphones over my life and these are the first that don't fit.
I ended up buying a Sony pair, which has poorer audio quality, but at least they stay in.
High quality sound. [Posted on 2008-05-27] These headphones blow away the Vmoda bass phones. Bass is just as good, but the mids and highs are much crisper and cleaner. The surround sound claim may be a bit much, but I can verify the soundstage is much more expansive and rich than with the Vmodas.
These headphones don't fit way inside your ear like the V-modas, but they sound just as good sitting mosty outside your ear canal. Much more hygenic that way anyway, I think.
These will be my favorite bud-type headphones.
