I bought these because I liked the promise of simulated surround sound. I'm very happy with the ear buds and would purchase them again. They're comfortable, have great sound and they do deliver on the virtualized surround sound.
I have sensitive ears and listen to my music at low volumes, and many other ear buds I have tried have a quiet buzzing sound in the background. The Philips ear buds do not have this background sound, though. Nice product.

These ear buds have good sound quality, but they are very uncomfortable and even painful in the ears.

I got those earphones at Best Buy last night and now, 20 hours later, I'm driving back to return them.
The good :
A. Stylish.
The bad :
A. Too large and uncomfortable compared to the 31$ "Sony MDR-EX71SLA".
B. Poor sound quality.
C. Never stayed put ( not that I have baby ears ).
Bottom line :
Stylish uncomfortable earphones that were poorly designed .
I personally :
Do not recommend them, not even to my worst enemy.
Quality and a Bargain [Posted on 2008-06-16]
I bought these from my local drugstore about a year ago, as a spur-of-the-moment buy. Aside from the fact that Amazon has a much better price, I have not regretted that purchase at all. These have excellent sound quality (provided you use the proper-sized rubber earplug attachments) and are quite comfortable (again, if you use the right-sized attachments). At first I found them to be uncomfortable, and the sound quality was merely OK...and then I realized that these problems arose from using the wrong size rubber earplug. I switched out for the smaller size, and voila...fit is comfortable and sound is great!
The only problem I have with them is the ridiculous rubber carrying case they come with, one of those 2-sided flip-down spool things. This hardly matters, though, because I just put them in my coat pocket.
BARGAIN [Posted on 2008-06-26]
I bought these earbuds for my ipod because I didn't want the white pair that came with my black ipod. I tried several pair from different brands including sony. These were comfortable for me and sounded so much better than the Apple ones that came with the ipod. They're very nice.
Mine came with an extra set of rubber cups. I believe they were a different size than the ones that were on the buds in the package to help them to fit your ear best. While I'm sure that they don't measure up to a set of Shure earbuds, these are great for the price. And they were even cheaper than the sony ones which sounded dreadful.
In fact, I liked these well enough to buy a second set for my cousin to use with his LG Chocolate (which I do not recommend as an mp3 player).
One more thing. Another reason I bought a black set for my black ipod is because in the past it had been reported in the news that thieves looked for the tell-tale sign of Apple's white earbuds. Good to know.
