Better than throwing away batteries [Posted on 2007-10-15] I bought this for a baby swing that will get a lot of use and knew I didn't want to be throwing out batteries constantly. We timed the batteries in the swing (with weights in it) and found that it lasted about 9 hours.
Ok, for the money [Posted on 2007-12-02] The batteries are OK for the money. Charge will not last the longest but having two sets and always keeping one charged works well.
About the same capacity as a rechargable AA [Posted on 2008-01-29] They are technically D batteries but when you get them they'll feel very light. In fact they almost seem like an AA battery in a D form factor.
After looking at the capacity, go figure. These are rated at 2900 mAh and some AA Duracel I have are at 2050. Better to go with higher capacity batteries.
DOES THE JOB [Posted on 2008-03-10] I purchased these batteries for my flameless candles. They work real well for my purposes and I can now leave the candles on all the time and simply recharge the batteries about every two weeks or so. I don't think they would work as well for candles on a timer which last several months on two batteries and only use 5 hours a day of battery power since no rechargeable battery holds a charge like the alkaline ones do. Having said that, these do exactly what I purchased them to do and I am very pleased with them.
Not Really a "D" Cell Battery [Posted on 2008-06-23] All these other low score reviews are true. Note these NiMH batteries are rated by their mA Hours, which is how much charge they hold against the appropriate rated load. These will probably work fine in a straight digital radio or other device, but so will regular batteries for a lot less and last you months as well.
Motors in kids toys need Real "D" Cell which are 1.5V Batteries, these are all 1.2V!!!! 1.5V requirements will not run on 1.2V, it's like sticking a half dead battery in a kids toy. Not only that, you may overload the battery and cause it to overheat, potential leak, or worse.
Rayovac does make an Alkaline battery that is rechargeable and is 1.5V. It works well, but has become hard to find. Too bad AMAZON doesn't send out the right notice for the right battery when you put your name in the e-mail Q for a Rayovac Alkaline Rechargeable Battery....uggh!!!!
