While I cannot complain about the price, the first time I used this the spring came flying out and it is no longer retractable...
Of course, the only reason I bought it was because it was retractable, so it is no of no use to me.

This is a great product. It's a cheap and easy replacement for a lost iPod USB connector.

The product's idea is great. The actual mechanics of it, are not the best. I find that the ease of use is sometimes difficult. While it appears the cord will pull out and slide in with ease, that is rarely the case. I often have to pull the cord several times for it to wind itself back up in the correct position. While it is a nifty idea, the mechanics leave much to be desired.

It's hard to believe this cord is so inexpensive. It does the job. The retractable feature makes it so that the cord is always wound up and does not take up alot of space or get tangled. I bought this cable so that I could charge and transfer instead of spending money on a separate charger and separate cable ('cause there are enough wires in my house!)

I've tried several less expensive cables (the retail iPod sync cable is about $20) and this by far the best. the mechanism is reliable and the cable itself works flawlessly; always detects and charges my iPhone/iPod correctly and never drops.
Also, it's SO nice for my purse or briefcase because it's not getting knotted and tangled like most cables.
The only flaw, and the reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is I think the cable is a couple inches too long. When it retracts it's pretty clear that the cable barely fits on the spool.
So far, it's the best performing non OEM sync/charge cable I've found. And the price is perfect.
