Returned, very unhappy with it. [Posted on 2008-06-13] This is what I think of this product.
Firstly, I thought that Samsung would be able to read Japanese since its HQ is base in S. Korea. I'm not confusing and culture here, it just that a lot of Japanese product are able to read Korean so I thought it would be vise versa.
Anyway, some thing other than the language support.
-The USB is weak and will likely break if something hit it.
-The button on it looks like a good ideas, but it really is not. There don't even glow too. No indication of which button do what at all, and will likely cause problem when you try to reach in your pocket to change song.
-The OS suck(I don't know how to describe it, I just hate it)
-Annoying light that keep beeping(For WHAT?)
-The belt clip and made from cheap plastic.
-WOn't even transfer files if with my laptop that run Vista.
The price is also quite high when you can get the creative 4gb version for a little more.
Excellent Choice [Posted on 2008-06-28] I have had this mp3 player for a few weeks now and really love it. Like another
reviewer I use Ubuntu Linux; but for me this player works perfectly with the
Amarok software. As others have noted this device is not a flash drive, so if
that is what you want get something else.
Pluses:
Good sound. Very cheap! FM radio works great (I live in a city).
Plays ogg vorbis -- most of my music is in this format.
Built-in USB connector is great -- no batteries/charger no USB cable.
Did I mention CHEAP.
Minuses:
I wish it were 4Gb. I didn't like the earbuds it came with, but I
bought a pair I like.
Mixed:
It is quite small and light -- I like this; it fits in a shirt pocket;
other reviewers found this problematic.
It uses MTP rather than a VFAT file system (like flash devices). This
is why it can't be used as a flash drive with windows. It needs some
software to work like Amarok or RhythmBox under linux.
Good , Simple,functionable.. [Posted on 2008-06-28] This is a good MP3 player , It is simple to use . It plugs right into my Laptop and I can click and sync music right away in Windows Media Player. The downside is the player when I am running or working out the sound cuts out because the connection to the headphones is a piece of crap.If you are buying an MP3 player for running or anything that is gonna be jostle the cord around very much don't buy this player.
YP-U3JQB very cool [Posted on 2008-07-06] Very nice system. The touch based controls are nice, but do make it difficult at the gym when I want to change the volume. I think the hold button might be designed a bit better. Great sound and contols beyond those very minor complaints.
Small and lightweight, but buttons too easy to push. [Posted on 2008-08-23] I was all excited when this order arrived and it works great as long as you leave the "hold" switch on. If you accidentally bump it, it'll skip to the next recording. I use it to download teleclasses and listen while I drive. Works well for what I need, but if I went back I would choose a different MP3 player. Something that's less touchy.
