Awesome MP3 player [Posted on 2008-09-14] I love my Sansa Fuze. It works well with Rhapsody. The memory is expandable--just pop in a microSD card. Have had no problems or glitches. Would certainly recommend this MP 3 player. Good product for a good price.
Positive experience [Posted on 2008-09-19] The Sansa 4 GB Fuze is a great MP3 player for the casual user. It comes with software but does not require it. It works with Windows Vista and Windows Media Player, you just hook it up and sync after you've loaded up the WMP library. Also, since it takes multiple filetypes, you don't need to convert files from their standard PC type to a different type (like with an iPod). I think the iPod is still the way to go if you are a heavy user, but if you just want something to take along when you go to the gym, this is a good unit, less expensive than the more familiar brands, and it works well.
Great player with radio caveats [Posted on 2008-10-25] This product has performed very well for me with regard to playing mp3 files. The battery last a long time, and the sound quality seems very good. There are 3 gripes I have:
1) The FM radio functionality of the player died a month after purchasing it. All other functionality seemed to work fine. I replaced the player, and paid another 20 bucks to have the warranty extended.
2) The reception for the radio seems quite poor. Even inside of town--- many regular radio stations seem very 'staticky'.
3) The volume of the player does not seem all that loud. Even with better earphones that go inside your ear (I bought after getting the player)---- it seems to produce less volume than other players I have heard.
Other than these issues, it has been a pretty decent device.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS ADORABLE LITTLE GADGET!! [Posted on 2008-11-09] I have had my new little red Sansa 4 gb mp3 player for about two months now and I just love, love, love it. I'm listening to it as I write this review, as a matter of fact. This little gadget is like my very best friend. It goes everywhere with me, plays all my favorite music, and it's just gorgeous to look at too. The one I purchased in red is the color of deep, rich garnet and I love looking at it; it's so shiny and bright and rich looking. Make sure to order one of those hard clear plastic cases (also available on Amazon) right away to protect the beauty of this slick, exquisite little player. I can't believe the pricetag either! In my mind, the Sansa overall outshines the more expensive ipod in terms of sound, function, versatility, beauty, and of course price! I have one of the earlier generation Sansa models too. It's an E-280 8 gb model and it still functions beautifully after one year. The old Sansas only came in black, so I love these new players in beautiful, rich colors. The new version is much lighter too and at least as light as the ipod nano. The screen is wonderful and easy to read. The new Sansa player will interface with itunes too, unlike the old version, so I can even upload tunes from my friend's apple mackintosh. So versatile! On this new model too you have the option to change the background color! You can pick green, tan/gold,lavender, or pale blue according to your mood! To my mind, the best feature of the Sansa players (other than the price) has always been the fact that you can delete songs directly from your device, without the necessity of booting up your laptop! I just LOVE that feature, and the
fact that, unlike the ipods, the Sansas (old and new generations) come with a memory card expansion slot so that you can store music on those inexpensive little memory cards and then load and unload music according to your whim! I have loaded a ton of Christmas tunes onto a 2 gb memory card and it is so easy to just pop in the tunes at Christmastime and then pop them right out when Christmas is over. I also have a card loaded with Elton John tunes. I crave Elton John sometimes, but I also get tired of him very quickly, so with this little mp3 player, I can pop Elton in or out, depending on whether or not I'm in the Elton mood! And I just can't stress the fact that the sound quality of the Sansa far, far outshines
that of the ipod! The sound is just as stunning as the outer beauty of
the device. And I cannot get over the fact that this new generation
Sansa is so lightweight, especially when compared with the previous
generation. Oh, did I mention that you can also download and play podcasts
on the new generation Sansa? I haven't tried it yet, but believe me: You can take anything from the itunes store and download it onto this new generation Sansa. Another thng: It's so easy and "goof proof" to initiate
the player. It comes with a diskette, but you don't really need it. It
interfaces immediately with your media player or itunes or whatever
system you use to organize your music. I cannot recommend this adorable
little player enough! The look and feel of the player is just awesome!
It's silky to the touch and the new design of the wheel is phenomenal. It responds beautifully to the touch. The set-up too is so user friendly and the sound quality is impressive and rich and creamy and clear. Invest in a slightly more expensive set of earphones and you will be in absolute paradise listening to this thing! I can't put it down! In fact, I want to get another one in pink, not that I need it. With the expansion slot, you can hold between 12 and 16 gb of music at a time, which is more music than most people really need at one time. I just want another Fuze because they are so nice to look at. And at this price, I can literally afford to get two. I say get two and then you will always have a back-up. I have dropped mine a few times with no problem, by the way. Be sure to spend the five bucks on the clear plastic case. The clear plastic case just accentuates the beauty of the device! Okay, just one last thing:
Be sure to go to the Sansa website and install the free Sansa updater. It's so easy. The updates are available periodically. You should update your Sansa right away. The update will activate the music list wrap-around feature. It will also activate the latest version of the start-up graphic, which is an explosive little starburst of color! So cool and slick, just like the player itself! This is a five-star player, folks, and I kid you not! You will get so much enjoyment out of this one, I promise! I can't wait to see what the clever Sansa people have in store for the next generation of their smart, sleek, and lightweight little gem of an mp3 player!
Great Music Player with Plenty of Storage [Posted on 2008-11-11] I ran out of space on my Sansa Clip 4GB, and needed something fairly quickly. After learning that the Fuze possessed the same sound chip as the amazing Clip, I snatched one up at my local Mega-Lo-Mart. It's a 4GB model, but it fully expandable thanks to the MicroSD slot. I found a 4GB card online on the cheap, and now have 8GB of digital glory on my Fuze. And I can further expand it up to 16GB if need be.
The Fuze sounds amazing, is light, compact, and thin, and looks wonderful in the Crystal Clear Case I got for it on eBay. I'm now using the dynamite JVC Air Cushion HA-FX66R earphones, which makes my music listening experience pretty much awe-inspiring.
Now, listen, SanDisk is about to come out with an 8GB Clip, which'll be fantastic, but if you want to be able to continue to expand your music library on your player, and if you want to be able to watch videos and look at pictures, get the Fuze. The 8GB Fuze is dirt cheap right now here at Amazon.com, and it'll no doubt be cheaper than the 8GB Clip, and remember, you can add a bigger MicroSD card for up to 24GB of memory. You really can't beat that.
But, then again, it won't stop me from getting that 8GB Clip...
