dependable player [Posted on 2008-05-20] Bought this for my 74 year old Mom. I put everything from Bobby Darin to Joan Biaz and photos on it. The pics are small, but it's still fun. She hasnt read the instructions but has still managed to fumble through it. That was the point. She somehow manages to make it function! Therefore, I have to give the player two thumbs up! It also has a micro slot if more data is an issue.( I believe those go up to 8gigs now ) It identifies easily( even on vista! ) all this on a refurb for $20.00! It came with full warranty, factory pakaging, ect. Then I got a wall charger, USB, and other acc. for$5.00 (less!) The extra's go on and on for Sansa products, just look! I originally gave this 5 stars, but since this is a refurb, i thought I'd back it off!
Good for price [Posted on 2008-05-24] It's cheap (got it at 29.99). There is good quality sound. It is rather nice looking and sleek. Earbuds are decent. Easy transfer system. Good shuffling. "Go" playlist is easy to set. One GB is enough for me.
Yet, it may just be me, but this item is not very durable. I kept it in my pocket to listen to while I work (I work in a cooler at the night, when no one is around), and it got scratched easily (probably my fault).
Additionally the buttons are EXTREMELY sensitive. I barely hit my pocket (like a small tap) while working and it changes to the next song, repeats, shuts off, pauses, or records. When record is engaged, it is very hard to go to another function (often I just turn off the player and then power it back, because no buttons appear to get it out of record mode).
Also, the system is very uncooperative when it is low of power (even when it still has hours left) and the charging is done by USB, not power cable. While charging, you cannot listen to the MP3 player.
I would recommend it to you if you plan to not use it while working. Pretty decent for the price it is. If though few flaws were fixed, this would be perfect.
Pretty Good MP3 Player [Posted on 2008-06-14] This is an pretty good MP3 player. Before i got this MP3 player i had 2 other sandisk mp3 players that broke but this one is still working and ive had it for a year and a half but yet its not so good.
Pros:
1. The size of the MP3 player itself is pretty nice small easy too cary around with you unlike say one of those huge mp3 players they come out with.
2. Design, this mp3 player has a nice design too it but yet is a littly bulky.
3. sound quaility is pretty good on this and the buttons are easy too control
4. easy too use, this mp3 player is simple too use no directions needed.
cons:
1. its too bulky i think compared too my ipod it doesent stand really at all it so bulky compared too it.
2. sound okay my headphone jack wore out about 6 months after i got it than the end of 2007 i got an ipod and the headphone jack was pretty much busted but i got headphones working for it and its working fine now.
3. sometimes this can freeze up if your skipping the songs too fast or sometimes if you drop it enough the battery may come out.
I got this MP3 player back in January of 2007. Its still working fine today except the headphone jack but i got new headphones for it but all in all it works great but yet now that i got an ipod i dont carry this around with me yet i still use this thing just at home. I also use it for a recorder being that the recorder on here is great.
Plus when i got this mp3 player it was 70 dollars just for this little thing now its only 30 dollars and the 2 GB one is just 50 dollars. Boy was i gipped but of course it was a year and a half ago
4/5 stars
Sansa C240 V1 [Posted on 2008-06-14] This product has a problem with XP Home SP3 Operating System that is being worked on by Sandisk engineers. The bottom line is that it fails to remain on / stay "connected" or be recognized by XP Home SP3.
Other than that, so far so good but what an inconvenience.
Great for the price! [Posted on 2008-07-03] I'm in staunch opposition to ipods so this was a great idea when I got it as a gift. I've had mine for about 8 months and there doesn't seem to be a downside. I download from amazon any mp3 I want and upload it to the player. The battery life is good, hasn't died in the middle of a song or anything. The only downside is the onboard memory. Which was easily fixed with a 4 gig micro mem card. I have all the room I need now.
