WOW [Posted on 2008-06-28] This just arrived today. First, I was shocked and dismayed at how tiny it is. The only other mp3 player I've owned was much larger. Second, I hated the earphones (not unusual for me since my ears are small). I quickly plugged in my favorite earbuds just to test it. Oh MY! The sound is fabulous. Hard to believe I can get such great tone from such a tiny thing. And even though it's so small the buttons are still easily manipulated and the screen is easy to read (even for a grandmother like me).
I use Windows Media Player and it was totally painless to transfer my music over. While I was waiting for it to charge, I even managed to figure out how to move my playlists over. Then since I had tons of space left and had to keep my pc on so it could charge, I shifted some of my favorite audio books over. Very simple to use with just basic computer knowledge.
It's perfect for my needs and such a terrific value I'm telling all my friends about it.
Wonderful, sounds great, durable and easy to use [Posted on 2008-06-28] I have an Imac. Just load songs on to your Imac and drag them to the Sansa icon and that is how easy it is. I dropped it on the floor, not even a scratch, keeps on ticking. Plays FM radio. My only small suggestion might be going with the 2 GB, but this 1 GB will do. You can't go wrong with this small, good sounding super MP3.
Good Player and Recorder [Posted on 2008-06-29] Very nice player. Quite small. Can be charged with 5v mini-USB charger like the Motorola Razor uses.
Clip to hold it on is not well designed. The clip can slip off and the player can be lost. Needs a positive lock on the clip. Better, an easy way to hang it around your neck.
Definitely a good purchase for incidental music listening or recording.
very user friendly [Posted on 2008-07-01] this is very small and very user friendly. easy drag n drop. volume controls are easy to use along with the menu. I like the clip but i wished it was metal like the ipod shuffle. Yet, i am glad to have bought the sansa clip.
Don't try this at home... [Posted on 2008-07-02] Because of the complaints about week batteries I waited a couple of months before commenting, but it's going strong. I have 10, one hour lectures on this and it only uses a fraction of the memory.
But the thing that is making me want to comment, is that I washed it in the washing machine clear through a hot heavy duty cycle. It came out with a little mist under the screen, and wouldn't power on. I left it in a warm spot for a few days, and it worked just like new. It didn't even lose any of the data.
Like I said, I wouldn't recommend doing this on a lark, but I'm really impressed.
