I purchased 2 sets for my surround, very nice [Posted on 2008-02-15] I just received my two sets yesterday. They were easy to put together with all that in necessary to complete installation with my sony speakers. They are solid on the hardwood floor and adjustable so I can move them for the best sound when I want to watch a movie.
At full height they are a little bold looking with 4 stands towering over the room but when not in use, adjust down and disapear into the corners. Which is just what I wanted in a speaker stand. My setup is the 5.1 surround with the wires inside he walls and shorter exposed wires with bananna plugs to the 4 movable speaker stands.
Amzon refuses to clear things up [Posted on 2008-03-02] This is a set of TWO, but nowhere does it say that. I got conned into buying 4 when I only needed 2 stands. Their extra height is why I had to have them so I thought I was paying $70+ for each stand. In 2 years Amazon has been contacted and told about the problem twice and yet refuses to use the word "set" or "two" in it's description. They continue to show only one speaker.I got two emails, one saying no action was taken due to incorrect form or usage and the other said no action was taken because they were unable to reproduce the problem. I have to wonder how many people have been turned off by the perceived price for one speaker and how many more were conned into buying more than they needed. My speakers Onkyo 7.1 had to be held on with double sided tape which so far has worked, but since I own a house cat, I'm not very comfortable with. The platform could be a little larger also.
A little pricey, but well worth it [Posted on 2008-07-20] These are excellent surround satelite speaker stands. Beefy construction, good finish, lots of brackets to work with a range of speakers. These are the first stands that I've come across that reach high enough for proper surround speaker placement. Support poles are plenty big to fit a decent sized cable through. The only thing I would like to have seen is a hole running from the base of the pole where the cable comes out, through the base so you can hide the cable a little better at the bottom. I ended up drilling my own hole in the base, wasn't hard, looks much tidier now. Would definetly buy again.

Good stands [Posted on 2008-08-05] The stands are very good. I agree with previous reviews that the paint can chip if you're not careful.
I made my own braket out of wood that I attached to their L bracket so I could use both mounting holes on the speaker. Just my personal preference. I mounted Boston Aucoustics MC130 speakers. They weigh just over 5 lbs. per speaker.
I am actually ordering another set for my center channel.
