tilt joint not built for use over 20 pounds [Posted on 2007-08-30] to echo a few of the comments here, this arm is not really meant to handle "up 30 pounds" as it's specs claim. it's perfectly safe and the nickel bars are solid, but the flaw is the final joint (the tilt joint) that connects to the vesa mount plate. it is woefully inadequate supporting my 27 pound, 26" w/ DVD sharp flatscreen. there was no way i could tighten the thumb knob sufficiently with my hand alone, and the display would just tilt all the way down, facing the floor. i had to go to home depot and pick up a special torque wrench to finally get it to settle, and i'm still not too confident with it.
also, it did not come with the proper sized screws to attach the vesa mount on my display, leading to another purchase for the screws.
Nice look, pretty strong [Posted on 2007-11-01] Holds LCD TV okay. To get it to keep from tilting down I had to tighten with a pair of pliers. My TV is close to the maximum weight specification.
Seems Like a Solid Mount, but the Tilt feature is useless [Posted on 2007-12-28] I purchased this unit and found it easy to mount and install (make sure you are screwing into something solid; the arm is fixed, so the TV will always be 6 inches away from the base). However, the tilt feature is useless and I couldn't get the screw to hold so the TV, a 26 inch Sharp HDTV, is tilted all the way so the bottom is against the wall.
I will be returning this and getting a flat mount.
LCD Wall mount [Posted on 2008-03-22] Great unit for mounting an LCD TV. About half the price of other heavier units available. It's lighter weight made it easier to install and adjust. No problems with sagging or anything. The only dislike is Hexhead 3" brass screws. Soft metal, hard to find a bit for a drill that is hex. Suggest you buy a couple of heavy philips head wall wood screws to mount to the stud. Other than that its all good.
