These sit in ears well. There is a handy clip that can attach to a pocket, shirt, etc... The mechanism is smooth and has not failed once in the 4 months I have owned these, nor snagged or twisted. These fully retract, which is very convenient. The length is adequate that the ipod can be placed in a pants' pocket.

This earphones are retractable, but the trick is to pull both ends of the cable when you want to lengthen or retract. I made the stupid mistake of pulling on only one end, and it tangled up. Sound quality is adequate for my use. I am not a sound expert, but as long as there's no static, I am happy. Plus, it's $16, which is pretty affordable. If it's $30 or more, I would probably look elsewhere, though.

Everything about these buds are average. If you're looking for something compact these buds will work. I'm 6ft. and wear my mp3 player on my belt the length of the speaker wire is to short for that.

I purchased this headset to replace my retractable Macally one. This headset requires that you pull both ends to extract evenly. Used properly, it's fairly reliable, with decent sound quality. Not for use with desktops that sit on the ground, as the cord measures only 32" from jack to earpiece. The clip is 5" away from the jack and stationary, which is probably meant to clip to your pants with the music device in your pocket.
