almost as good as the toe nail clippers [Posted on 2008-08-25] I found these to be better than the "cheapies", but less necessary than the toe nail model. I'm not sorry I bought them, I was just more impressed with the toenail clippers. I guess that finger nails are easier to cut for any brand clipper.
Quality [Posted on 2008-09-06] For such a frequent task you deserve a good tool - this is it. I knocked off one star just because I wish there were a file. I also bought the larger one for toes at the same time - that was a waste. This one is larger than most and I like it better for toes too.
Clipper [Posted on 2008-09-30] Good, sharp clippers, but they don't open wide enough. It takes some maneuvering to get at your nails.
The Best [Posted on 2008-10-30] My family has been using J.A. Henckle Nail clipper for 8 years (works great even now), and I love it very much. When I moved out from my parent's house and when I was about to order one myself, I saw people recommending Seki Nail Clipper over Henckle's Nail Clipper. So i thought I'll give a shot to it, and purchased Seki instead...and wow...I LOOOOVE this Seki Clipper. I never thought I would need separate nail clipper for toe nails (one is enough to do all job), but since Seki nail clipper is so wonderful, I'm kinda tempted to buy a Toe nail clipper as well.
Quality materials but awkward design for me [Posted on 2008-11-16] I was really looking forward to trying these clippers after going through about 10 cheap clippers that required brute force to use.
I have to admit that, after reading all the positive reviews, I'm fairly disappointed in these. Why? Well, first, they don't seem to be all that sharp. But that may be more perception than reality, because they do cut my nails well.
But even more disappointing is that the opening is so narrow that I have to fumble around just to get my nails into the slot. I found a cheap pair of all-stainless steel clippers at the big-box superstore for about $3.00 that seem to do a better job.
