Nice, but returned them [Posted on 2008-04-13] Tried these out for a few days, comfortable, nice sound, just didn't have as much noise canceling as I thought it should, especially for the price. really could hardly tell the difference with the power on or off, most of the noise canceling was just the "ear muff" effect. While the inline volume may be helpful for some, when connected to iphone/ipod it's just redundant and gets in the way. The batteries go in a funny compartment that seems like the door could break easily, the cord is a little thicker than most which seems more durable
Exchanged them for the Sony NC60's and couldn't be happier, much better noise canceling IMHO, just as good sound, slightly smaller/less bulky, the case is just as nice/sturdy, and for less than half the price you can't go wrong.
Great sound, great noise canceling, great battery life. [Posted on 2008-06-15] I bought these headphones without actually holding them or testing them first, so I had no idea what to expect. I took them on a trip to Africa and was completely satisfied with them. So, here are my oppinions:
Sound: 5 stars. Could use a little more bass, but that can be changed with your equalizer. Noise Canceling: 5 stars. Took out all the engine noises and most of the talking around me. Comfort: 5 stars. They took a bit of getting used to, but after wearingthem for 10 hours stait, they are very comfortable. They also work without the noise canceling which is very nice. There is alittle white noise with the NC on, but all NC's have that. VERY sturdy feel, and nice case. Love them.
Almost perfect [Posted on 2008-07-17] Almost perfect. I have been using noise canceling headphones since their commercial inception, mostly for air travel, and the Sennheiser PXC350 are the best sounding NC (noise canceling) headphones I personally have ever used. I have been carrying Bose NC over the ear headphones from product introduction, and prior to that Sony and others, logging many hours with different devices. Here's the difference; the Bose have slightly more cancelation of airplane engine noise, but they cannot compare to the clarity of the Sennheiser. To put it another way, the PXC350's have the flattest response, similar to my Etymotic canal phones, which I consider an excellent reference point. The difference was significant and noticeable to not only myself, but companion business travelers as well. One small issue; the earcups on the PXC350 are quite large. This permits a very comfortable fit but this may have also contributed the noise leakage due to the earcup not completly sealing against my head. I was able to adjust them so that they were fairly snug, but after time and subtle movements, I could feel that they were not making tight contact at the bottom below my ear. Therefore you may want to try them for fit, especially at this price point. But either way, I would not trade them for other models.
Excellent Product [Posted on 2008-07-28] I've used several brands of noise cancelling. This is the first time I paid over $150 for a pair, but I heard/read nothing but good things about this product.
I finally decided to 'bite the bullet' and get me a pair.
My expectations were exceeded. They are not small so don't expect a small package or something that can be easily put in a purse or small bag. They do work really well and the sound quality is amazing.
Cuts the noise [Posted on 2008-08-13] Got these for use on the lawn tractor, as well as travel. I wear glasses so wanted an ear pod that was large to wrap around well. The 350 does this comfortably. Spent 3 hours mowing with no discomfort. Noise canceling feature turned on makes listening to my iPod clearer than with noise canceling off. You will still hear your lawn tractor (don't expect perfect silence), but these headphones take the edge off better than a simple pair a safety headset for noise protection.
I also plan to use them traveling by airplane. These headsets will pick up radio interference from laptop computers. I tested by wearing the headset with my laptop in front of me. The left hear pod made a low buzzing sound that went away when I turned my head away from the computer. So I give this product a 4 instead of 5. Better RF shielding is needed if you plan on traveling and using a laptop.
Glad I got them.
