WAY over-priced here [Posted on 2008-07-27] Excellent TP, but Amazon is off their rocker at this price. My wife just got back from Central Market where she bought 12 rolls for 8 USD. You do the math. I'm surprised at these prices. If they were more reasonable, this would be 5 stars without question.
Great idea in a not so great form. [Posted on 2008-07-30] I really like 'green' products and use quite a few of them. And though I know I am saving trees, among other things, I can't help but wonder if I *really am* saving much of anything when I have to use 3 or 4 sheets of a product that I other wise would have to use one sheet of. It *still* takes energy to produce these paper towels and if I am having to use 3 times more of it over another product, then I have problems believing it is really accomplishing much as using more means more waste as well (not good for our earth either), not to mention the irritation factor.
I reach for these in a *quick need* situation and especially if my hands are already wet, I end up with only a piece of towel in my hand, where as if I use the 'regular' towels if I pull off a sheet, I get a sheet. This paper towel is not strong, or very absorbent. I would be more than happy to pay a little more if I felt I were actually helping the environment, but I just feel with using 3 times as much of a product to accomplish what one of something should accomplish is just not saving anything for anyone. I really *want* to be happy with these, but just not happening.
So thought I have to give it 5 stars for the green effort, I feel I have to give it 2 stars for *actual usability* of this product. The only thing these paper towels really has going for it is that it *is* a green product.
High quality, eco-friendly paper towels [Posted on 2008-08-03] Seventh Generation makes one of the best quality Eco-friendly paper products available. Of all the brands on the shelves of my "health food stores", Seventh Generation is a reliable pick. One of, if not the best. These paper towels are no exception.
why? [Posted on 2008-08-29] I have been buying Seventh Generation paper products from Amazon for the last couple of years. I last bought these paper towels in April 2008 and the price now in August 2008 is $10 more. I just can't imagine WHY the price has jumped so significantly. I will look elsewhere.
Very Disappointed [Posted on 2008-08-31] I love buying "green" products and recycled products. These paper towels are the worst ever. I absolutely hate them. I would send them back if it was worth the shipping. As soon as they are even slightly moist they fall apart and disintegrate. We don't use baby wipes, instead we use paper towels and plain water to clean our toddler and 5 year old boys. These are terrible for that purpose. Even if we use four or five towels at once they fall apart and are useless. Wiping up spills produces the same effect. If we are using these for dry messes these towels are horrible. I won't buy these again.
