Good but could've been better [Posted on 2008-03-03]
Great case that protects the ipod's exterior; however, there are alot of flaws to the design and build. first, the case is too difficult to open once its the ipod is in. Once the case is open, the ipod needs to be pushed from the click wheel to just take it out. Second, the seal is not all the way sealed through including the click wheel. i dropped a few drops of water and the water seaped in through the click wheel causing a little bit of water to get in. third, the case is easily scratched. finally, the clip for the belt stays on the belt very well, but its very very very difficult to remove once its on. it the clip is designed to not be removed and it is very difficult to remove from my belt. so be cautious with this order and look up others before you purchase this. if this is something that looking for, get it. If not, avoid at all cost

This is the best case I could hope for for my iPod Classic 80G. It fits very snugly. It protects the screen and, well, everything except the scroll wheel with strong, clear polycarbonate plastic. It has, supposedly, shock-absorbing rubber around the edges. I have not dropped my iPod, and hope never to, but it's nice to know there is some protection.
I am glad there is nothing covering the wheel, as the wheel on the classic has some sensitivity issues that are no problem at all with this case.
There are openings for the controls and ports. There are also two openings where a belt clip attaches. I could do without those, as I don't use a belt clip, but they don't bother me. I do find that some dust gets in through the openings, but that is a minor annoyance compared to the scratches and scuffs that started accumulating on the back the moment I opened the iPod package. I'm not super-picky about having a pristine device, but I also don't like screen scratches.
I only tried one other case, actually a silicone sleeve. It was loose and collected dust. It also did not protect the screen. This case was precisely what I was looking for after the disappointment of the sleeve.
I cannot recommend this case enough.

i want to begin by saying that i love, love, love the way the case LOOKS. its slim, shows off the beautiful ipod with the cool black rubber edges. its really nice but there are two drawbacks which result in my needing a new case:
1) scratches super easily-- within the first day of my having it, sitting in a pocket with nothing in it, it managed to come out severely scratched (the case not the ipod). its still looking ok but just quite anoying.
2) heres the big one, no wheel protection-- theres no cover for the wheel and the new ipod classics have a more fragile wheel , compared to the 5th gen. video. my wheel now has some serious dings in it and dirt stains and i really to keep good care of it in general.

It is GREAT. Protects your iPod. Takes a beating. Just overall really good. I have bought them for my husband and son's iPod and we have all had great luck with them. Very good.

Sturdy Construction and fits extremely well. I love how the IPOD fits snuggly inside with foam lining. It's a great case for someone who needs total protection for their IPOD. My only gripe is that the rubber seals around the case isn't flush together when you close it and the plastic scratches easily but that's why you buy a case for your IPOD.
