Customer Reviews:

Great Sound, Easy to Use, Extra Inputs [Posted on 2008-09-07]
This is a great sounding and excellent all-around product. It sounds stellar, even for its diminutive size and extraordinary thinness. There are extra inputs, two actually, for your other audio devices. Switching to these inputs is done by pressing the central selector button on the front. It's a snap. Volume control is digital but it works fine. Blue display is pleasing to the eye and not too bright. (One glitch is that the full-featured, well-designed remote doesn't seem to be compatible with my Sportster 5 radio. Using any button on the remote unintentionally changes the channels on radio.) If you have a Sirius radio, the Soloist is a top choice for a compact, home-based platform.

Best $50 I have ever spent [Posted on 2008-09-17]
First, I'm not sure why Amazon has it for over $100. I paid only $55 at Fry's. I used to listen to Howard on Sirius through their website at work until the Sirius website was blocked. I was in a pure state of panic until I found this unit. It now sits on my desk and I'm again able to listen to Howard all day. The antenna also sits on my desk next to the unit, about 10 feet from the window. The signal is absolutely crystal clear!! Much better reception than what I get in my car.

Great sound for a great price [Posted on 2008-09-19]
Easy to use product at a great price. Good sound from a small unit. I liked how it fits all portable and pulg and play Sirius radios. Another nice feature is it takes any Ipods as well.

Great price nice radio [Posted on 2008-10-18]
I puchased this a re-manufacture item for 34.00 regular is 150.00 and I am very satisfied . The con is the sound is not comparable to a conventional boom box. However it suits my needs at work for a low volume radio. The sound is not directional and will fill the room.

Not bad, not great [Posted on 2008-11-02]
I bought this to replace my existing Xact boombox account with my Sportster account. I wanted to save a few pennies each month and believe Xact products and support are junk.

Pluses: It looks great, classy. I could use my iPod on it. All definite pluses.

Minus are more: The sound is so-so. The boombox had great base and resonated nicely. This, which uses an electrostatic technology, is very crisp, but lacks base. I'm still tinkering with the sound quality adjustments, but it is a noticeable variance.

Also, the remote transmission/reception is poor. I must stand three feet or less from it to get an accurate power-off or else the unit cycles through the different modes: iPod, line in, etc. The remote uses the same button for Power and Mode. I'm not sure if this is a battery strength issue as I'm using the one that was enclosed.

I'll keep it. But I'll keep the deactivated Xact handy in a closet.
