These speakers are cheesy....I had some other speakers made by the same company and they lasted for about 5 years. Travel can be rough but they hung in there with me. They were great slim had a nice case so I went with the same company...mistake...not as good as my first. If you are just looking for something to sit close they do their job. Keeping in mind these are for travel so expect sound limitation. I got the adapter; unless you want speakers right next to you, not a good option, cord needs to be longer or go blue tooth...hint hint....
