Great MP3 player for the price [Posted on 2008-07-02]
Forget spending more for an iPod, this little player is awesome! Got this for my birthday and absolutely LOVE it! First of all, the sound quality is as wonderful as I would expect from Sony. The interface is easy to use for loading on songs and it took no time at all for me to learn to navigate the menus. I was worried about space but I have about 500 songs loaded with plenty of space left for more. I haven't had a problem at all with battery life, the manual says 33 hours and while I haven't kept track, I have gone a very long time without having to charge it up. The video screen is small but pictures come out crisp and clear and videos look great! All in all I think my husband made a great choice!
Just a few minor complaints. 1. I wish the USB connector was the same as the one used by my blackberry so I'd have one less cord to deal with. 2. The headphones that come with the unit have great sound quality but are really uncomfortable. 3. Wish that there were more accessories for this unit from other manufacturers. Sony puts a premium price on the docking stations and speakers so I would like to see some other manufacturers have accessories for this unit. Still, the pros definately outweight the cons!!

I bought this in January and it's still working 100%.It sounds great, but you should get one of those $10 sony earphones. It has 11 languages, including Korean,both of the Chinese languages,Japanese,Italian,Portugues,Deutsch,Spanish,French,and of cource English;there is one language I dont know what it is. But there is one problem. The buttons are pretty small so people with big hands like me,would sometimes accidently push the "fast forward" button when trying to pause the song or movie. But besides that I really love it and highly recommend it as their first mp3 player or their 5th mp3 player.

My wife wanted an ipod....however I found this lovely item instead. The great thing about this walkman is you don't have to convert all your songs to i-tune format. Brilliant. We had our whole library on our computer as wmv or mp3 files. No conversion necessary. Easy to navigate. Great menu options and...it has an FM TUNER!!! I mean really...why do companies NOT put a tuner on this?? What happens when you want to listen to your favorite morning show? This was a great selling point for me. I wish it had a bit bigger storage capacity but my wife didn't really need anything bigger. This fit our needs perfectly and it was way cheaper than the i-pod line.

Great battery life, and Sony has greatly improved the way their MP3's upload their music (no longer using the proprietary software they were using for the older walkman). The old system used to turn any music uploaded into Atrac format, that I really liked, but you couldn't turn it back into MP3 format.
Have had this now for about 5 months and it's great, really light weight, and easy to use. If you are planning on using the movies and video feature, don't get the 2GB, go for the larger memory. If you just want music, I think this is perfect. There is a case made by Bodyglove that works great as a case for the waste, and uses a magnet to open and close so it's great for use when running or riding the mountain bike.

Great mp3 player for the money. Also nice to have radio.
Much easier than Ipod.
