A Little Beauty [Posted on 2008-04-13] At first I had doubts that it would work, but after a small amount of fiddling around it has proven to be fantastic. I stream music from my laptop (Vista-Media Centre) to a Bose system between my bedroom and loungeroom. At first my laptop told me that it could not find drivers for the device, but when I moved it closer to the receiver it found them on the second attempt. I then found that the music cut out intermittently, but since I turned off my bluetooth mouse the problem has gone away.
Good except for noticeable distortion with line level outputs [Posted on 2008-04-29] I bought this to use with an iPod sitting in an Apple dock. Unfortunately there was very noticeable distortion when hooked up to the line level output of the dock. Although this is documented in the operating instructions, I thought I would pass it on here so others can be informed before purchasing. From the manual:
"Be sure to connect this unit to the headphone jack of the stereo audio source device to be connected. If this unit is connected to the LINE OUT jack of the device to be connected, the sound may be distorted."
I can vouch that this does cause distortion in the case of the Apple iPod dock. The sound quality is actually quite good when plugged into the headphone jack (you may need to lower the volume of the iPod). Whether this is good choice for you really depends on how you intend to use it .
Good unit.. [Posted on 2008-05-10] Other reviews speak to the details, but I found this transmitter/receiver to be just fine. As others have said, you have to really push the plugs into the unit to get them seated correctly (audio). And, turn the unit OFF and then press down on the ID button to pair with your headphones..the manual mentions this but in very very small print. I think this is a good product, and only comment is: since you are pressing the ID button to get it up and running with your headset, then why not have the ID button on top of the unit, instead of on the side where it's hard to see..
Great Transmitter [Posted on 2008-06-15] At first i was sceptical in buying this , but went ahead and did, bought this to hook up to my LCD TV, was happy i did , works great , really like the auto off feature it has built in , easy setup , you only need to buy an extra cable if going to RCA jack on TV , very small.
The user manual says to keep it about 30ft away from any wireless routers, but i have mine less than 20ft away from a NetGear RangeMax 108mbs , and 1ft from a PS3 and there is absolutely no interference. Bought this to go with the CARDO S2 headset.
**Some user claim it was hard to setup , just follow the instructions, pairing is done by pressing the SET ID button before turning the unit on.**
Easy to hook up, but unusable due to audio problems! [Posted on 2008-06-21] Hooked up without a hitch to my Lenovo T61 laptop. Sounded great at first, but then the problems started. The audio slows down and speeds up! Enough as to make it very annoying and essentially unusable, as it changes the pitch of the whole song. This is inexcusable for an audio product! Hopefully the seller will allow me to return the item.
