Customer Reviews:

Nice but bulky [Posted on 2008-04-05]
Sony MDR-XD200 headphones are decent for the price , but they have 2 disadvantages:
1.bulky
2.no difference between music and video mode

Great headphones [Posted on 2008-06-03]
These headphones are great if you don't mind the retro look. Every time I put these on I feel like I'm a very serious fan of music and I do not like to be disturbed while I'm listening, which actually has it's advantages, especially in the library. While they are bulky for backpacks, I do travel with mine and feel like I'm bringing a luxurious piece of home with me. Although the sound is not completely blocked out, the price is right for the amount of sound that is blocked out. I love them.

Good Low Cost Headphones. [Posted on 2008-06-07]
These Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones are a good low cost little brother to the Sony Studio Monitor Series Headphones MDR-XD400 if you don't use headphones almost 24/7 as I do. While the MDR-XD400s are true audiophile quality with an "airy" sound stage, a dynamite full frequency range and excellent dialogue and vocal clarity doing all kinds of music faithfully, these are the same design--almost--with a good sonic range, fairly flat across the spectrum, the same weight (light) and around-the-ear fit, less distinct when video dialogue's concerned, I can recommend the MDR-XD200s for the budget conscious buyer. They're better in my estimation than the Creative Labs Aurvana Live! headphones 4 times more expensive(!!!), and the CL Aurvana "DJ" headphones I tried were sonically the equal to the MDR-XD400s--and possibly more "rich sounding"--but I returned them because of their weight [almost 16 oz (a full pound)]. Audio Techinca makes some good phones as well and at decent prices, so shop around to select what you feel will do the job intended, read the reviews and remember--It NEVER hurts to buy quality!!! Good listening to you!

Princess Leah [Posted on 2008-06-13]
These suckers are big and like one previous reviewer stated you do feel like the Princess's understudy with these on...but for the price they do have a decent full sound. The only pity about these that would have excused the use of cheap materials and probably the existence of a poisonous lead-based silver paint ...is the arched head band.

If only they would have rounded the top band out to the contour of an actual human head these would be a killer-cheap pair of head phones.

With the phones off your head, pull the earpieces apart and you can see the topBand "square off." This is uncomfortable and I almost gave them away. However, I gave them a second chance and managed to get used to the discomfort.

pros:

1. big, puffy comfortable head cushions.
2. full, warm sound
3. super, long cord that reache across a small room.
4. addition of miniJack.
5. low price for good sound quality

cons:

1. uncomfortable headband
2. cheap, silver paint...why did they even bother? just leave them black.
3. noticably, cheap plastic feel
4. you can hear the plastic creaking in your ears while in use.

may the force be with you.

Not good for music [Posted on 2008-06-15]
I bought these for my mp3 and they are worst than my old head phones. They are not as loud and you can hear the music about 30ft at high volume away. One thing that is wrong with this is that can they make this cord any longer? The cord is at least 8ft tall maby 12ft. I think this is like a tv head phone thing so I kinda got ripped off but if its for tv style who would want to buy one that's has a huge embarrassing cord?
