Great Earbuds [Posted on 2008-07-08]
I really like the EX32 earbuds and bought this set to replace my old ones. I had them for a long a time and put them through a lot of abuse before the right bud finally died. I was surprised they lasted as long as they did; very durable despite the price. They sound great and the design is awesome. Notice how there isn't very much plastic coming down from the bud? They don't stick way out from your ears like other buds do and can be comfortably worn even while sleeping. Unfortunately (or perhaps not, depending on your taste) Sony changed the cord design to a Y-type cord instead of the old around-the-neck style which I prefer. They sound quality is still great but the new cable just seems a lot cheaper than the old design. Too bad. I guess my search for the perfect earbuds is back on.

I prefer these. [Posted on 2008-08-13]
I tend to go through lots, I mean lots of ear buds. This is due to the fact that my cats like to chew them all up if I lapse and leave them out somewhere. I have had Sennheiser, Creative, Sony and other brands. I prefer this MDR line. They have just the right natural balance of bass/trebble. They do not sound "tinny", "papery", "plasticy" or cheap. The bass is rich and powerful when connected to a good audio player like my Walkman or Creative Soundblaster card. Since my cats chew up my ear buds and I am not rich $25 is a bargain for an excellent product! I just went to my local Target and picked them up for the same price as here.

Bangin' quailty, baby! [Posted on 2008-08-24]
These babies provide an unmatched balance of bass/treble on my ipod. Simply superb audio detail. 'Y' design with chin slider is perfect for running, house chores, and just lounging. These are better than the previous model which just gave out on me because they stay put in your ears, better blocking out just enough external noise. Since my Walkman cassette days, I've always gone with Sony headphones and pretty much cried when it was time to replace them. Thankfully, the latest lower-priced range models always keep up the standard of pure, solid sound reproduction. You could and probably do worse until you try a pair of these. It's crispness vs. crapness and at such an affordable price. If you love your music, than treat yourself to some serious sound equipment. Hear the difference and be satisfied. Enjoy!

Great form factor and clarity [Posted on 2008-08-27]
I purchased a bluetooth headset a while back made by JVC. The receiver is great and allows the use of other headphones via a 3.5mm audio jack. The included headphones have a VERY short cable as the receiver is generally intended to be worn attached to your shirt or pocket (makes sense, the mic is in the receiver).

However, when I'm simply looking to listen to music having the receiver right under my chin or on the side of my neck (I wear T-shirts most of the time) is annoying as it gets. So, I bought these little gems.

They're compact enough to still be able to wear them to bed, as they don't really protrude from the ear much. They've got the same level of clarity I've come to expect (probably not the ultimate for the audiophile out there, but good enough for me and I am a little picky).

My only disappointment is the fact that they're very quiet when paired with a bluetooth headset. A rather common theme amongst people using bluetooth headsets is that the volume doesn't go nearly to the same level as regular headphones that are plugged in. These headphones are quieter than any other pair I own (I own 4 other sets of headphones, two of which are other Sony products).

If you want good sound these are great. If you want to be able to hear your music in a loud environment and your player doesn't get terribly loud, keep looking. As with all in canal headphones they reduce outside noise, but not quite enough for me when in a loud room. I do still like them for lounging around the house.
