A way to lose your iPhone [Posted on 2008-08-06]
I had a Griffin case, but the clip broke (although it's superglued and still sorta functions). Based on the excellent reviews, I bought this one. It doesn't hold the iPhone securely. Any movement would topple the phone from the cradle. And after a couple of drops, I was careful, but not careful enough, and I dropped the iPhone in a store without noticing it--somebody found the phone and everything is fine, but the is not acceptable.
iPhone_3g Fits Very Well!! [Posted on 2008-08-22]
Holster works perfectly with my iPhone 3g. I bought it hoping that the 3g would fit and it sits nice and snug. Most secure holster I've ever owned for a phone. I had a plastic one with my Motorola Q and the Q constantly fell out. It is impossible for the iPhone 3g to fall out of the holster. The phone cannot be popped out, it has to be slid up from the holster, ensuring that no accidents occur. Great product would buy again and recommend to anyone.

I ordered this case thinking it was going to be amazing. I wasn't TOO happy with it.
PROS:
-Soft cushion to protect the phone.
-Nice clip; comfortable on the hip.
-Phone is sturdy inside it, if you place it in correctly.
CONS:
-The lining spreads grease from the phone.
-It feels too tight if you put the phone it face up.
-Hard to put the phone in, sometimes you will have to mess around with it to get it to in correctly.
Conclusion:
I would not reccomend buying this, especially for the $20 they are charging.
Great for iPhone, but never intended for iPhone 3G [Posted on 2008-09-27]
I absolutely loved this holster for my first-generation iPhone. The velcro stand feature works great and I was even able to use that feature to quickly attach and detach the phone to a velcro-covered windshield mount in my car. It doesn't have a cutout for the iPhone camera, but it's easy to push the phone slightly up from the bottom for that (without having to remove it entirely), and the bonus is that you then have a little space and a hook at the bottom to help you hold and stabilize the phone (one handed!) while you're pressing the icon to snap the picture. The belt clip is extremely sturdy and slides on and off easily but grips securely, unlike some of the leather-covered clips, which don't have enough of a raised lip at the bottom of the clip to slide on easily. The clip is also more low profile (less bulky) than the ratchet-style clips. So when I upgraded my iPhone to the 3G model, I was saddened that it doesn't really work for that phone, at least not when inserted face-out. It seems at first as though it fits, but I find that it just doesn't hold the phone securely enough: it just pops out unexpectedly. As of this writing, the product is mislabeled on Amazon. The maker, Speck, does not market it for the iPhone 3G and never intended it to be used with that model. Check Speck's website yourself. I ended up getting the Griffin Elan Clip holster for the iPhone 3G, but it has a few negatives that prevent me from loving it as much as the Speck holster.
Update, 2 OCT 2008: Amazon has updated the product name to remove "3G." I've also moved on from the Griffin Elan Clip to the Macally mClip holster (both for the 3G), which is a much better product.
