Looks good, sturdy and is comfortable to wear [Posted on 2005-08-19] I bought this armband a month back have used it regularly for running. I have no complains. I like its looks very much as it lets the iPod stand out and be visible rather than hiding the iPod behind a black case.
When I bought I was concerned that the iPod might slip from the sleeve. I use it with the skin that comes with it which is pretty cool as it is a translucent white skin on iPod. It feels sturdy and there is no sign of slippage.
Fits comfortably around the arm and the there is no problem sweat getting on the iPod.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Uncomfortable [Posted on 2005-09-07] After paying $40 for this item (I purchased it at CompUsa since it was more expensive when I first saw it on Amazon.com), I figured it would be worth the money since it came with the multi-use plastic sleeve and the armband. Overall, the idea is good and the sleeve comes in handy even when you aren't using the armband; however, the band absorbs sweat while you are exercising and that is an uncomfortable feeling. In addition, sweat accumulates inside the band where the plastic casing attached to the armband sits against the arm. I considered returning the item; however, I realized that if I wanted to buy another plastic sleeve that I could use all the time (in the car, at home, etc.) as well as another exercise armband, I would end up spending more money.
ANOTHER FREEZE WARNING [Posted on 2005-09-28] The item itself is nice; however, it does cause the ipod to have problems with skipping and delays. I have had my ipod for approximately 4 months and after using this armband to exercise, I noticed that my ipod would begin playing a song and then in the middle it would skip to another song. It also made the ipod delay playing songs when I was not exercising. The song would appear on the screen but take quite a while to start playing or when I would try to go to the next song, it would take some time for the next song to even appear on the screen. When I went to have it fixed, I was told that it is better to get an ipod nano or ipod shuffle because they have a flash memory without moving parts like ipod 20gb, etc with hard drives. When you have the ipod on your arm and it is moving around such as when you are exercising, it causes the ipod to skip or have additional problems. I agree with the freeze warning listed below.
Perfect for varying exercises [Posted on 2006-06-17] I purchased this armband over two months ago, and so-far it's lived up to my expectations. I definitely beat the hell out of my ipod and use it for everything: trail mountain biking, climbing, trail running, the gym, etc. The material has proved to be incredibly durable, without any irritation, and the protective silicon case for the ipod holds it firmly in place. You need not worry if you are one of those profuse sweaters, the protective casing keeps the ipod water resistant against your arm. Even my girlfriend can wear the arm band, and her arms are pretty slim; i'd go out on a limb and say it fits all sizes. Regarding those complaining of freezing, i think your complaints need to be directed towards either apple or yourself. I mean seriously, how would a plastic and rubber armband effect your ipod's functioning? Needless to say, i've never exeperienced something of that nature. I hope this helps...
Simple and effective [Posted on 2007-01-05] Simple sturdy and well made. The inclusion of a "skin" to protect your iPod is nice. Seems a little pricey, but does a good job.
