The purple is not see-thru and shows scratches on the case a lot easier...but again, it's a great case and protects the laptop itself. I think this case might look better on one of the black macbooks...maybe

it works fine, but because of the new case, my laptop lock won't work. the case is too thick for the lock to fit.

The case is not see-thru and it's a different shade of purple as to what is shown in the picture. It's too dark.

Fits nice and tight. The purple over the white macbook looks great. Will scratch but better than scratching your new laptop.
