Initially I was looking for a laptop sleeve for my MBA so that I can toss the whole laptop into my oversized laptop bag. But after purchase and use this hard clear case I started to realized this approach makes more sense! Since not only now I can toss (well, not exactly) it to any backpacks or bags without worry about getting a scratch but it also looks great when I am using my MBA. Sure it does added some weight on it but with the extra amour the MBA is getting I think it is well worth it. They do have all sorts of colors available (pink, black, transparent etc) and make sure you get the transparent as you don't want to hide away MBA's gorgeous silver color!
Is it expensive for a plastic case? Yes it is, esp. when there is a similar product on amazon selling for $22 but does it feel good and worth the extra price? You betcha!

I had high hopes for this case, since my wife has one for her MBP and she loves it. I bought the MBA case before a trip to protect the laptop at the airport security checkpoints. But it added significant weight and also did not stay well fastened to the laptop. The bottom part would easily detach at one corner. As mentioned the case adds significantly to the weight so I returned it and got myself a neoprene case by Incase protected the MBA very well without adding weight.
