I'd been looking everywhere for a backpack that would safely transport my 17" dell laptop plus have enough room for papers, notebooks, etc. but also not be terribly heavy to begin with. I'm perfectly capable of adding too much weight without starting with a bulky bag. The bag itself is very large and yet light weight. I looked at several in stores and they were all so bulky or heavy. The only thing I miss is that I wish it had a separate pocket big enough for a folder or papers rather than just tossing them in one of the pockets, but there are other smaller pockets in the bag that are nice for the little items as well. This bag also comes with a full rain flap that is tucked into a small zipper pouch at the bottom of the bag. You pull it out (it remains attached to the bag with a strap so you don't have to worry about losing it) and it stretches over the entire front side of the bag with elastic around the outside to keep it tight. This was a nice feature for me, since I bought the bag so that I could transport my laptop while riding my motorcycle and I don't want to worry about rain. (Bummer that the rain flap doesn't have any reflective material on it though) The bottom of the bag is also a water-proof, rubber-like material. The padding in the back and shoulder straps is nice. There is a reflective strip down the center on the back of the bag as well which again I liked for visibility on my bike since the bag would be covering the reflective material built into my bike jacket. The zippers and stitching on the bag are good quality.
Anyway, I really like this bag and recommend it to anyone looking for a good bag for their 17" laptop. It fits mine with lots of room to spare. The inside pocket for the laptop might even fit 2 of my laptops! There is an elastic strip that attaches to velcro at the top of the pocket to enclose the laptop and keep it secure. It's a good price and the bag also comes with a Limited Lifetime warranty. I'd buy from this brand again.

Fits a good-size laptop with quite a bit of space remaining in the main compartment (for books, folders, papers, accessories, probably even a couple of 2-inch binders). Are some extra pockets/pouches in the smallest of the three main compartments. Mesh pockets on the side are pretty good sized.
