Sweet Headphones [Posted on 2008-02-10] The Technics RP-DH1200 DJ Headphones are by far among the best cans i have ever picked up. They have amazing Bass and Treble due to there wide frequency range and are very comfortable while wearing. Their multiple wear settings is due to the unique twisting design and they fold up. There a bit chunky, but that means their serious. People notice them, they know you know music, hopefully the perception is true.
VERY WELL BUILT [Posted on 2008-06-01] THESE ARE GRAET FOR DJING WITH THIS PRICE TAG ! THE LOW/MID IS A BIT OBVIOUS IF USED IN A ROOM OR SUBWAY ,BUT A BIG PLUSE IN A NOISY CLUB , IF UARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING AROUND 100$ THESE ARE THE BEST .
Unbelievable. [Posted on 2008-06-05] For under 100, these headphones are jaw dropping.
Once I recieved them, I was anxious to try them because of the good reviews, and boy was I blown away!
The sound is incredible! The Bass response is AMAZING! I've never heard such deep, yet clean bass before coming from headphones, these are freakin' spectacular! The highs are also great and the trebles are sweet. The overall sound is mind blowing, especially for the price. It surprises me that they go for under 100 dollars!
If you're looking for a good pair of headphones, that is relatively inexpensive, look no further, you have found your pair! These really are that great.
Expect the best from Technics. [Posted on 2008-06-24] Like I say, expect the best from Technics and, of course, from this great set of headphones. As a home DJ, musician, and quality sound seeker, I did a vast amount of research before buying an over $100 set of cans. As many mention, the Sennheiser's and Sony's do sound very good. But that is just it...good. If you own a generic set of headphones you will be noticing the difference immediately. However, if you do know something about sound and music, and even if you don't and are just searching for an excellent-sound-providing set of headphones, search no more. The DH1200s are 1) made to last, 2) handcrafted beautifully, and 3) they will blow your mind away with the clear, crisp, precise, enhanced, and over the top, high quality sound.
I specialize myself in trance, house, and electro-house music, and results are simply what you hope to expect from a respectable brand as Technics. Club and Venue DJ's should definately "hook-up" with a pair of these. They're designed like a tank...durable. And even though they may be around one or two ounces heavier than the competition, everything pays off in the sound; nothing really significant. Plus, their comfort is also very decent. I'm sure your ears or head will mind them just a little bit after a long and continuous three to four hour use. But nothing a brief 5 minute break can't handle. This is definately not a con; all headphones, due to their made-to-keep-sound-inside design, will be like this. Also, the sound is kept and locked in amazingly. Once more, for venue and club DJ's this is a definate plus. Be sure to be mixing your beats with no problem at all while your crowd enjoys at the other end.
But if you're just a nice, good-hearted person (which I'm sure everyone here is =D) who's looking for a pair of headphones that can deliver an over the top sound for when listening to your Ipod (or any other MP3 player), watching movies late at night, enjoying your classical music library (Vivaldi, Bach, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, they all sound AMAZING!), or just wanting to get on the audiophile groove, these are the headphones for you.
From enhanced, clear, and crisp bass, to high-end treble that, no matter how high you crank up the volume, won't create distortion. Be prepared to listen-in to details and instruments in songs that you never noticed before. An easy rating for this one... 5 out of 5.
The price is more than worth it. I would not actually mind if i had to pay more for these phones.
PD. I don't mind answering any other detailed questions. Be sure to do an extensive research before making such a valuable purchase, which happens when dealing with music equipment.
Sound great but hurt my head [Posted on 2008-06-26] I probably just have a misshapen head but wearing these headphones hurts after a short period of time. They weight quite a lot and sound wonderful but the headband isn't padded sufficiently for me and is quite narrow. So they make the stop of my head hurt.
Sound great but might be uncomfortable depending on your head's shape.
