Another greet looking transfer to Blu-Ray. [Posted on 2008-04-09] Blu-Ray has really got their stuff together. This title is no exception. Super clean and vivid tranfer. First off, this title was viewed on my Sony XBR4 monitor. Calibrated with the Digital Video Essentials disk. PS3 was used for playback. Sound acheived through a Sony DG910 receiver, and Axiom speakers. HDMI Monster cables were also used, with Monster speaker cables.
So, with that said.....this title looks and sounds great. I mean really great actually. Although this film is not really that old, they did a masterful job with it. If you are a Arnie fan, you will be happy to view this in the best possible format to date. The colors are very bold and vibrant. They really leap out. The overall picture is very, very sharp and clean. Looks brand new from the theatre. There are no blemishes at all. No dirt, scratches, or visual distractions. . The night scenes hold black very well. Dark and stable throughout. No edge enhancement is visible. This a " reference quality " picture. You simply cant ask for much more. I do not recall a single instance where I was dissappointed with the quality of this disk.
The sound is awesome. This is a great action movie to show off your audio system. The voices are crisp and clean. You will get a taste of all sound ranges with this title. Great sounding explosions, shootouts ect....If you have a great audio system, you will be able to give it a workout.
As for the movie, if you are a sci-fi fan, this is a cool movie. If you are a Arnie fan, it is not his best, but a worthy effort in my opinion.
Perfect [Posted on 2008-05-09] Best Video and Sound anda a actor is very old men in this BD with details is detailed.
6th day [Posted on 2008-07-08] The people reviewing before me seem to have reviewed the quality of the DVD instead of the movie, which probably tells you the best part about it. The plot has more holes than a swiss cheese, the dialogue seems to have come from other (boring) movies we've all seen before and Arnold is far from at his best. His age is showing, the moves are gone, and we're just left with his acting ability - which says it all. The only remotely interesting character is the bad guy, played by Tony Goldwyn. When he's not on screen you might as well go for that snack or hit the bathroom.
