The Unwatchable [Posted on 2008-10-08]
I did not think this movie was ever going to end. Please explain to me how a 90 lb high school girl can physically intimidate a gang of thugish high school boys , a violent ex con, and out wit the entire seatle police department. This movie was ridiculous. It had a great concept but the story was contrived and poorly written. Dont waste your time.

Average paranormal story. [Posted on 2008-11-02]
An intelligent young man (Justin Chatwin/Nick) is "presumably" killed and his body left hidden in a remote place by a kind of bad girl from his school (Margarita Levieva/Annie) as she thinks he reported to the police a jewellery robbery she had committed. Then, he wanders the streets and around his school and home as his soul is trapped between heaven and earth. Nobody sees him. He tries to communicate with anybody, unsuccessfully. The film has plenty of nuances, such as the behaviour of Nick's mother played by Marcia Gay Harden/Diane, the tenderness and concern of Annie for her baby brother. Nick, horrified, thinking he is really dead, discovers in a clever way (I won't tell) he is not dead at all. From this moment on, Nick decides to take some action despite nobody sees him. Alex O'Loughlin plays Annie's boyfriend, an ex-convict in a small role very different from the lovely vampire from the "Moonlight" series. Watchable film even though it is not a "Sixty Sense" one.

The Invisible [Posted on 2008-11-03]
This was very good. A unique story of a boy who gets beat up and left for dead, but his spirit trys to find a way to get himself rescued. I was a bit sad at the ending..as i would have done it different, but still a good movie.

The QUALITY is Invisible [Posted on 2008-11-11]
The second I received the movie "Invisible" in the mail I was instantly happy. However, upon watching it, I noticed that several parts were absent from the DVD that I KNOW should have been in it. [This is one of my favorite movies.] I would suggest buying elsewhere, unless of course, you've never seen it before. Then you probably wouldn't miss anything TOO important. However pivotal the missing parts may be, I keep it on my shelf and laugh at the thought of it.

Two Spirits... One Lost and the Other Found [Posted on 2008-11-25]
Writer/director David S. Goyer (writer of The Blade Trilogy and Batman Begins) makes a departure from the "comic book" movies for which he is best known, and instead helms this remake of a Swedish supernatural thriller. The screenplay was co-written by Mick Davis and Christine Roum, and was based in part upon the novel by Mats Wahl. The Invisible tells a story of teen angst, of near death experiences, and of redemption through selflessness (in this case literally).

Nick Powell is an intelligent, good looking, popular eighteen year old with a bright future ahead of him. But despite his talents and his popularity, he is lost within himself, struggling to break free of other people's perception of him. This only happens after Nick's best friend betrays him in order to save himself. Nick is beaten up by his troubled schoolmate Annie and her gang, who falsely believe that nick snitched on Annie after she broke into a jewelry store. After the brutal attack Annie realizes that she was carried away in her rage, and that Nick is dead... but he isn't. She and her friends hide Nick's body in the forest, not knowing that he's still alive. The next day Nick emerges from the woods and goes to school, only to find that no one can see or hear him, and that he has no physical effect on his environment. Nick has become a disembodied spirit and the only way for him to survive is for someone to find his unconscious body before it dies. Yet how can he lead anyone to it when no one is aware of his presence? No one, except for guilt-ridden Annie. Nick watches as the lives of his mother, his friends, his classmates, unravel in his absence, and he begins to haunt Annie. Soon Nick and Annie develop an understanding of one another and they even come to respect each other. But can Annie, a social outcast with explosive anger, help Nick and can Nick, the seeming "golden boy", allow himself to be vulnerable enough to trust her and save himself in the process?

Despite the predictable storyline and the overall lack of originality, The Invisible is effective enough as a thriller. This is mostly due to the talented cast, which features Justin Chatwin, Margarita Levieva, Chris Marquette, and Marcia gay Harden. Of the cast, both Justin Chatwin and Margarita Levieva give the most impressive performances as Nick and Annie.
While the film is entertaining, it lacks the emotional impact that most viewers will crave. However it is worth seeing if you are intrigued by stories of the supernatural or if you're a David S. Goyer fan.
