A good smartphone, but can be better [Posted on 2007-09-03]
This is a grat device, but as a long time PALM OS user, it takes some time to get used to Windows Mobile, because it is not as intuitive as Palm.
The other thing is that a phone this expensive, should come with Wi-Fi. The use of GPRS for web browsing is slow and expensive, so Wi-Fi is a
must for your needs when a Hot-Spot is available, but it's not a built in feature.
Also, plan in buying a memory card, because the internal available memory will get used pretty fast. The processor could be faster, like the 312Mhz Xscale processor on the Treo 680, but it runs fast enough for almost all the applications.
That said, it is a great PDA/SmartPhone, loads of features, and as reliable as Palm can deliver their products.

Nice idea, poor delivery. [Posted on 2008-02-14]
I had this phone for 5 months and I rarely liked the phone. The truth is, this phone should be amazing. It has a full qwerty keyboard. A nice, big touch screen (which was nice). Then they had to go and ruin it by making it a windows mobil device. This program epitomizes the word glitch. Alarms you set would not go off, or go off at the wrong time. Missed calls happened a lot while I owned the phone. I had to soft reset the phone every day, if you don't know what this is, you will (if you buy this phone). I had to hard reset it every week. I know what your saying. He got a bad phone... maybe... but I got my wife the same phone, and she had the same problems. She hated the phones, so now we have new phones. I have the Blackberry Curve and I love this phone, it is far superior to the 750. and the track ball is just as easy as the touch screen. So CAUTION to you if you are thinking of this phone, there are better phones out there that do the same tasks. If you have to have a Palm get the 680, it is a palm OS.

Great Device!! [Posted on 2008-02-28]
This is a great device. DO NOT believe any of the critics about the Palm Treo 750. It is a great PDA and much better than the Palm 650 (OS). I think that this is the best PDA in the market, much better than any Blackberry. Finally, do not believe any reference about troubles with Windows Mobile. That program works very well.

Pitiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Posted on 2008-03-27]
I have owned and used numerous phones, pocket pc's, and smart phones over the years and this is arguably the worst phone I have ever come in contact with. Let me be clear about this; it is not only the worst smart phone / pocket pc but the worst PHONE I have ever seen. For starters, you need to do a soft reset on this phone everyday just to have a chance of it working halfway correctly. If I went more than a day without resetting these are just a few of the malfunction I grew accustomed to:

1) Severe system crashes
2) Locking up
3) ringer and overall sound malfunction
4) Would not recognize the data card
5) Would not recognize information on the external card
6) Buttons would change their programming on their own
7) Constantly running sluggish from overused memory
8) Lockup when phone rings
9) Numerous other minor system malfunctions

With severe system crashes, the phone would take about 3 or 4 soft resets before it would work half way right. Even if you did a soft reset a day you could expect, simple lockups that would require a soft reset. and disrupt whatever you are doing. Various times throughout the day you can expect the phone not to recognize the external data card. That means that it would all of a sudden forget that you had a card and anything on it. Most of the time this was cured with a soft reset. Also you could expect at a minimum that every several days the buttons would change their programming on their own. For those of you that don't know about the button programming, yu can program various buttons to control various applications. For instance you can program the side button to control the voice commands. Well you may push the button one time and the media player will come on. Do a soft reset and it will go back to what you programmed it for. But, all of that aside what aggravated me the most and pushed me to discard this phone was the sound function. Very frequently the phone would lose its sound. All of a sudden the sound would just cease to work. This would include the tap sound, the inbox bell, and most importantly the ringer. The worst part about it is that the tro 750 silent function is handled by a switch so this was just unacceptable. When I first purchased the phone and it did this I assumed the switch had been accidentally turned to silent, but don't be fooled folks. This is probably the worst glich of all.

Let me put it in a way everyone can understand. I was under contract so I had to pay full price for a phone to replace the treo. When I was at the AT&T store I thought to myself that I could put the phone on ebay and at least offset the price of the new phone somewhat. Sure enough I got home and treo's were selling on ebay for $200.00 and I could have used the money, I just could not pass on such a sorry piece of technology to another person. So I gave the phone to my six year old child as a toy. It is not hooked up or anything, she just uses it as a fancy calculator.

In my opinion this is the worst piece of technology to come out in years. I would not buy these phones at a yard sell.

Simply perfect [Posted on 2008-08-05]
I had several Treo phones. 600, 650, 700 and now I have the 750 unlocked.
It seems perfect. It has all I need, and never had a crash until now.
I loved my 650, and perhaps I would like to have a Palm OS installed in my 750. Only perhaps.
After a while, I begun to feel comfortably with Windows Mobile 6.
I did that upgrade from Palm, because it was originally Windows Mobile 5.
The 3G (although is only 384 kbps) is very stable and perfect for a Smartphone. I can listen to Internet radio stations connecting the 750 to a little FM Transmitter in my car. My office comes with me everywhere I go.
I read a lot about bad experiences with this phone.
The only thing I find, is that battery is not enough. You have to save battery everytime you can.
In other aspects, it's like I said the perfect smartphone.
Perhaps not easy for a common user.
I'm sorry about other people who had trouble. Perhaps it's matter of what you neeed in a phone, or a factory problem.
I have only good things to say (except battery life).
