Worked fine for me [Posted on 2008-06-08] I purchased this item about 2 1/2 years ago. I have the old NON video
20 gb IPOD. This item worked PERFECTLY for me for 2 1/2 years. I have had some VERY long flighs (back to back 11 hour flights) and it allowed me to use my IPOD for hours. The ITURBO finally quit working. I will replace it as we travel quite a bit and it extends the IPOD life very nicely. I also can get a full charge from my rechargeable AA batteries. Sometimes the rechargeable batteries are a rather tight fit, but I have always been able to insert them and remove them successfully, but sometimes with a little bit of work.
Okay for what it is... [Posted on 2008-08-27] Well, what can you expect when you buy something like this? It's a bit of a rinky-dink device, but it does it's job, sort of. It does get quite hot when a battery is in it being drained to your iPod. For camping, this could be a handy little item.
After my iPod died, I hooked this little guy up and burned through about 3 batteries (iPod NOT in use while charging) and got about 50% of my iPod's battery power back. It seemed to deplete faster than a "normal" charge, but that could have been my imagination.
If you're out in the middle of nowhere, with NO other way to charge your iPod, this isn't a bad way to go. However, if you have any other options, use those first.
Didn't work and may have ruined my iPod [Posted on 2008-09-28] Well, not only did it only work for like less than 10 minutes ... now my iPod mysteriously won't take any charge at all. I have it plugged in right now for charging and it keeps rebooting itself and won't take the charge. Special.
Sounds good in theory but.. [Posted on 2008-11-25] Turbo Charge for iPod
I bought this at the airport before a long flight and it worked great! For a little while.. Now it not only doesn't charge the iPod, it seems to drain whatever charge is on it!
poor customer service, no replacement cord [Posted on 2008-11-26] Product was working well as an emergency power supply. I needed a replacement cord which I was willing to purchase. I had already been supplied a special cord for my LG phone. After multiple telephone and email attempts to contact customer service, I finally got a reply. They stated that no replacement cord is available, even for a price. Since it is a detachable cord, it can easily be lost or damaged. Better to look for another power option with a better customer service dept.
