Great card, but slow write speed [Posted on 2005-01-14] I've been using this card with my Canon S400 for the past 9 months and am very pleased with it. However, about a month ago, I noticed that the write speed increased from about a second to three-four seconds per image. It's kind of annoying since it was so quick before, but other than that, the card has served me well!
CF card works well, but rebate unfairly denied [Posted on 2005-08-21] The compactflash card works well so far, but my only complaint is with the rebate process. My rebate was denied because the rebate center stated that my UPC proof-of-purchase tab was not valid. Problem was that the rebate center was trying to process my UPC symbol against a Viking USB rebate claim, yet I had sent in a Viking CF rebate claim form. I contacted the rebate company and unsuccessfully pleaded my case. This CF card may continue to be a decent product, but because of the dubious rebate offer, I don't plan to buy any other Viking product.
WOW! great item [Posted on 2006-01-07] I bought this 2 years back and still it is in great shape. Recently i forgot compact flash in my shirt pocket and went for washing and then followed by Drying. My wife found compact flash in dryer and i thought it would not work. Surprisingly it is working fine and i could see my past snapshots with out any problem.
washed dried, and still in use [Posted on 2006-07-23] I accidently washed, and dried my compact flash 128mb card and as soon as i realized that it suffered that much abuse i decided to see if it would still hold my files and sure enough, all the files were there and the card had suffered no distortion from the heat.
Good Card [Posted on 2007-02-22] I have enjoyed using this card. Occasionally every couple of months, my camera (Nikon Coolpix 3200) will give me a message saying there is a problem with the card, but when I turn my camera off and on, everything is fine and no data is lost. I don't know how common this problem is, but since it is occasional, it is not worth it to me to get a new card. I enjoy the extra memory this card provides; just enough for an amateur photographer.
