Recieved as described [Posted on 2008-05-16] Card was delivered as promised. Worked excellent with Vista, did not use the drivers on the CD. I let Vista install its own drivers from the the net
Win TV HVR-1800 [Posted on 2008-05-23] The card works great but, I did not get everything with the card. I did not understand that white box was card only. There is no remote, receiver/blaster box and IR transmitter. You can download programs and updates from hauppauge web site.
Works with Windows Media Encoder 9 Series [Posted on 2008-09-11] I have this card working great on Windows Media Encoder 9 Series 64-bit, running on Vista x64 with 8G RAM. Previously I tried the ATI TV Wonder 650 and that kept crashing with buggy drivers. In contrast, the Hauppage 1800 started working perfect from the beginning. No more ATI junky drivers for me; Hauppage has their stuff together. With this card I can encode live streams over the Internet, just like those live events on pro websites.
Not Vista compatible [Posted on 2008-09-16] I made every effort I know to use this in my Vista Home Premium machine, but in vain. It did work with 3rd party software that I found unacceptable, as it would not control my satellite box.
Good hardware, worthless software [Posted on 2008-09-18] Good analog TV/video-in capture, but p_ss poor QAM support. Software (WinTV2000) crashes so often the only viable option is to use third party software. NO AUDIO on QAM at all. ZIP. Less than useful support from manufacturer; (persistently supplying 100% correct, but absolutely unhelpful advice.)
