Otterbox keeps the water out. [Posted on 2008-04-07] Otterbox seems to be keeping the water out. The neckstrap it came with is about to tear where it meets the otterbox unit. Looks like some friction, but I've only worn it on my neck twice for a total of about 30 mins. Lots of drag on the swim trunks, but I go so slow that I don't notice it unless I kick off the wall. I haven't used it in hot water (hot tub), and I stay out of the steam room for fear that it wasn't made for those environments. It's difficult to pull that nano out, but nothing unreasonable. The trouble is that the male headphone jack is fixed and you slide the nano in over it. It doesn't pivot, so you have to pull the nano out by the narrow edges. You can't really get a grip on it. Does what is advertised, may require something extra (armband?) to attach it to your body so that it doesn't affect you.
need a replacement [Posted on 2008-05-27] this is the second otterbox i have ordered. i had no problems with my first one but needed another because i went from an ipod mini to a nano. the first one would have gotten five stars - unfortunately, this one appears to be letting a small amount of water in. i'll probably have to return it. it is also a little difficult to operate the nano because the covering over the nano wheel is too stiff.
A Beach must have [Posted on 2008-06-23] This was a purchase of necessity and still loving it.
Swim with it, beach with it, kick it, drop it, suntan oil it, the thing sells itself.
Love the included neck strap
Minor dislike is the size, BUT this is more of an engineering limitation.
IT works! [Posted on 2008-06-26] Keeps you iPod 3G Nano safe from water and bumps too. It's big compared to the Nano itself but it does the job and appears to be constructed well.
for the kids [Posted on 2008-07-08] So far the kids love it. I dont let them use it under water though. But it give me peace of mind while we are at the beach or sitting by the pool that if a mistake happens their ipod will be okay!
