If you want a sturdy case that will look good tomorrow, don't get this. [Posted on 2008-02-23] I looked at possibly 10 different cases and bought 2 different ones. When you look at all the photos of the Tuffwrap Plus, it looks really nice and the plastic shield seems ingenious. Oh how I wish I would've gone to a store to look at it first.
First, the black rubber cover for the wheel makes it MUCH more difficult to use the wheel than necessary. I would forgo the wheel protection to be able to use the wheel more easily.
Second, the plastic shield, on day two, was scratched all to heck. It's not as noticeable when the screen is on, but detracts from an otherwise gorgeous screen. Also, the shield does not stay on the rubber body as firmly as one might hope.
The carabiner is hard to install and not as useful as I expected it to be.
I'm searching for a replacement ASAP.
it works [Posted on 2008-04-28] I looked on the apple site to see what product reviews it had on iPod nano covers. This one was raved about so I purchased it from amazon. First of all, it fits very snugly over the body of the nano - this surprised me since I anticipated the hard plastic screen cover was going to be bulky and/or slip off, but it is designed thoughtfully enough that the transition between silicone and hard plastic is seamless. The hard plastic also protects the screen well and doesn't limit visibility. Bonus: A carbiner clip to hang from anything - belt loop, keys, whatever. The only complaint is that the thin skin over the click wheel slightly prevents the extreme touch sensitivity. You don't notice it if you don't use the click wheel a lot, but if you are playing games, the difference is apparent.
Works as advertised. [Posted on 2008-05-27] It seems to be a decent piece of rubber, fits my iPod and feels fine.
Good, but has a few problems [Posted on 2008-06-23] I have enjoyed this case for the time that i have used, and it is a good case. It very efficiently covers the click wheel without losing sensitivity, and the removable screen cover is a nice touch. It has saved my ipod from scratches on its screen many times. But that is one of the problems with this case because when I put it in my pocket, i pulled it out with some scratches across the screen cover that reduce the quality of videos that you may watch. But that is easily salvageable by removing the screen cover.(which easily snaps back on) The other con is that it lacks protection on the bottom of the case. So dust and dirt may be able to get into the plug in jack on the bottom of the ipod. Or if you were to drop the ipod and it hit on the bottom of the ipod there could be some damage since the silicon case itself does not cover the bottom of the ipod. Even though none of this happened to me(other than the screen cover scratches) it could happen. It is a good case and i recommend it.
Not impressed [Posted on 2008-07-24] I was excited when I ordered this, based on other reviews, and then very dissappointed when it arrived. The wheel is covered by the plastic of the case rendering the wheel useless when the case is on. Basically, the iPod is proteced, but then you can not use the iPod when the case is on.
