This remote control works well for all the basic functions on the television: changing channels, adjusting volume, and turning the set on and off. There is not a way to program the TV with the remote control, so if you need to reset the channels after a power outage, for example, you have to do it manually on the TV set itself. Sure, it would be nice to be able to do this from a position more comfortable than 12 inches away from the TV screen; but, how often is this sort of thing necessary? For everyday use, this remote has been an adequate replacement.
