I got a 30GB black Zune for Christmas. It worked fine for about 3 months. Then it started to cut out parts of songs, freeze up, restart in the middle of listening to a song, and my favorite...delete the songs. The song title would show up, but it would say Missing Data when you try to listen to it. It freezes up all the time.
I figured the problems were because I hadn't updated the software. So, I went to my aunts house to use her high speed internet, and for 3 hours I tried updating the stupid thing. When I finally got it updated, I couldn't figure out how to use the new software! It's complicated for whatever reason. Then I noticed it had problems syncing. It wouldn't sync all of my music. Well, I ended up having to do that manually instead of letting it do it on its own, because it would give up and restart in the middle of syncing. Well, when I finally get all my music back on the stupid thing, I come to realize, it has ALL the same problems it had before. If not worse!!
I hate the Zune!! Don't waste your time and money on it!! Get an iPod!!!!!

The 30gb zune was a good buy for the money. Good memory, and I am well impressed by the video quality, but I had to buy other accessories such as an AC charger, and more than likely will purchase a case of some sort to protect it, before i scratch the screen too much more. That being said it is a good product for the price.

I have used many ipods but wanted to be different and bought a zune.
What was I thinking? I hate this zune. I have spent hours trying to work the bugs out. It only worked good for about a month. Now it will not even sync up to ANY computer, yes I have bought a new cable. Please whatever you do just jump on the bandwagon and buy an IPOD. Im selling my zune on ebay and buyin one myself.

I am older (61 yrs) and wanted an mp3 that I take on my walks with me. The screen is big and it was very easy for me to download my cds unto the Zune and very easy for me to select an album to play on my walks. I also have downloaded pictures of my grand kids so when I go out with my friends I can show them. That was also very easy to do. I also like the fact that you can re-charge the battery by plugging into an electrial outlet or car outlet (like a cell phone).

Ok this is a more updated review of the zune 30gig player. Now if you get the older model yes orginally it doesnt work with vista but there is an update so just get on the internet and download it at install and your good to go. Second the zune marketplace is always being improved. yes it may not be up to par with ipods but im sure at the rate they are going it will be. Now there are movies on the marketplace as well. I myself put my own movies on but to each his own. just look for zune movie conversion software and there you go. works great. i havent really had a problem with it myself. I would personally recommend the zune cause unlike the ipods they havent really had a problem with the things going down. you know where it says send it to apple to fix it. only bad thing i will say it does take me a while to put a movie on the zune but besides that i love it. its my baby.
