Great Sound! [Posted on 2008-11-24] I saw this neat radio at a doctors office. I was already thinking of looking into a iPod radio and this one had the style I like. Just plain and simple. It has awesome sound and then I found out about the 3d sound, I was even more impressed. The only thing that bugged me was the LED screen is very bright by default, but can be adjusted by button. Guess it could stand in as a night light too for kids.
Excellent Except for When Using iPod Touch [Posted on 2008-11-25] This a great clock radio except for when you try using it with a 1st Generation iPod Touch. When listening to the iPod at low volumes, the only thing I could here was a static noise that occured while the iPod was charging. I returned the product and got a replacement, only to have the same problems. I loved everything about this iHome but could not stand the static "helicopter-like" noise that came from the thing while trying to fall asleep. (I tried turning off the WiFi and it did nothing to help the problem. I looked online and saw a few other people had the same issue. It may not happen with everyone.
IHome H9 [Posted on 2008-11-25] This product is great quality and a very good price. I really enjoy using it.
Don't waste your money [Posted on 2008-11-28] I bought the iH9 iHome clock radio for $112 at Best Buy. I was happy with it until 50 days after purchase. One morning the power on the radio wouldn't work. Best Buy would not help me as their policy is 30 days return. The manufacturers warranty is 90 days but with me in Toronto, I have to cover the shipping to and from their El Paso offices which pretty well would nullify the $112 cost not to mention I need a clock radio now, not one month form now.
Stay away from this headache.
Excellent alarm clock radio [Posted on 2008-11-29] I like to have very good music and news in my bedroom. I used to have a Bose alarm clock which worked well for almost five years. It was replaced by a Polk i-Sonic, but it was a total deception. Two devices broken in a six months period and a very poor design, for more than [...] bucks!. After this bad experience, I decided to go to a more "modest" model and chose the iHome H9. But, I have to say that I am gratefully surprised with the quality and rich sound of this alarm clock radio. It has all the functionality and options you can desire in this kind of systems. Very easy to operate, particularly in the darkness. Enough number of memory presets. Perfectly coupled with my iPod Touch. Of course, it has not the sonic ambience of Bose, but it has a decent sound proper to enjoy music in your bedroom. The H9 is not in any case a "modest" model. It is really a great finding!
